Lady Godiva Slot Machine

Many people are at least passingly familiar with the tale of Lady Godiva, an 11th century Countess of Mercia. While her actual life was quite interesting in its own right, she is best remembered today for a story that was first told about two hundred years later, in which she was said to have ridden a horse through Coventry in the nude, covered only by her long hair, as part of an agreement with her husband that will see him remove a heavy tax that is burdening the townsfolk.

While it’s almost certain that never actually happened, the legend is known to this day and has become ingrained in our culture. That makes it the perfect fodder for slot machines, including one from WMS that is simply named Lady Godiva. A Generous Machine

This game uses a rather unique format, one that you may not have seen before. There are a total of six reels in play, each of which includes four symbol slots. If you’ve played games by some other developers, you might be familiar with the all ways system, in which you play one flat rate in order to gain access to every possible payline combination. That’s what is at play here, and given the super-sized reels, that means there are 4,096 possible wins on each spin.

While the format might be a bit different, the goal is quite simple: the object is to match identical symbols from left-to-right across the reels. There are basic, low-value symbols like jacks, queens, kings and aces, as well as bigger winners like cats, roses, and tiaras. The biggest prizes, unsurprisingly, are attached to Lady Godiva herself. She is a large, stacked symbol that can cover as many as four positions, potentially taking up an entire reel in the process.

Players can also try to match scatters and wilds. The scatter is a horse, and grants rewards if you hit three or more anywhere on the screen. The jewel acts as a substitute, helping to complete any winning lines (except for scatters).
