Cluedo Spinning Detectives Slot Machine
Do the words “Mr. Green, in the dining room, with the candlestick” mean anything to you? Whether you know it as Cluedo or Clue, chances are that you’ve played this family-friendly mystery game at least once in your life. It’s a game that anyone can play, but which rewards deductive reasoning from players, with better investigators having improved chances of winning.
That action has formed the basis of several great slot machines over the years, and it doesn’t look like developers are planning to stop going back to this theme anytime soon. The latest version to come to online casinos is Cluedo Spinning Detectives, a game being released in December 2016. It features many of the elements that have made both the board game and previous slots so successful, and we’re expecting this version to be just as popular.
Real Suspects Add a Fun Twist
While we’ve only been able to check out some limited previews of Spinning Detectives, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the game when it is released. The game appears to be quite similar to the recent WMS Clue slot machine, which was released to live casinos back in 2014. The game is a five-reel machine with four symbol positions per column, providing more ways for players to win.
The entire game takes place on a nighttime screen, with the infamous mansion serving as a backdrop for the reels themselves. When it comes to the symbols you’ll be matching on the reels, it all starts with the classic poker ranks, with aces providing the biggest prizes from this group.
Bigger wins come by matching some of the infamous murder weapons from the universe of the board game, like wrenches, pipes, and candlesticks. But perhaps the most interesting symbols of all are the dossiers of each of the potential suspects. We especially liked these because each of the game’s famous characters are portrayed by a real actor or actress, which makes them feel a bit more human than they might otherwise. It’s one thing to hear the names Miss Scarlett, Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Green, and Professor Plum, but it’s another experience altogether when you’re able to put faces to those names.
A Bevy of Bonuses
Another promising sign is the fact that this game is said to contain five different bonus rounds. If we had to venture a guess, we’re speculating that these are tied to some of the locations where the murder might take place – the various rooms of the mansion, since this is the only one of the three key elements (the others being weapons and suspects) that isn’t covered in the main portion of the machine.
What’s especially interesting is that there are five different bonuses that players can trigger during gameplay. Having that much variety is a great way to ensure that play doesn’t get boring or repetitive too quickly, making this a machine you’ll be able to go back to several times without seeing everything it has to offer.
Solving the Crime
If you’re a longtime fan of the series, then Cluedo Spinning Detectives should be right up your alley. It is great to see more of these titles coming to the online casino world, and we think even those who have never liked the board game might enjoy the multiple bonus rounds and the evocative theme. While it is coming in right at the tail end of the year, this machine could easily be one of the bigger releases of 2016.
