This game is beautifully crafted in order to recreate the nostalgic feel of the 1940s in Havana. Every single symbol on the reels adds to this ambiance. On the reels you will come across Cocktails, Cigars, Dominos, Miss Havana, a Compass, Cuban Maracoons, Maracas, and a Bottle of Rum. You will also encounter poker card symbols that run from Ace though to Jack, a feature common to most slots. Miss Havana's picture is available with a brown background during base play and with a yellow background during bonus rounds.
The Compass is the directional wild while Miss Havana is the standard wild symbol on the reels. Once you hit a Compass on either reel 2 or 4, the Compass' hand will spin and when it comes to a stop all symbols in the direction of the hand are turned into wilds.
Triggering the Bonus Features in Havana Cubana
A Compass appearing on any position on reels 2 or 4 during normal play will trigger the Directional Wilds Bonus feature. Before any pays are evaluated, the Compass will spin and stop at any 4 directions. In case you have several Compasses appearing on the reels they will each spin independently and they may all end up pointing different directions. All symbols falling in line with the direction the red arrow is pointing are turned into wilds. Winning combinations are then evaluated and paid once all symbols have been turned to wilds.
This game also comes with a Free Spins bonus round that you will easily activate by getting the Free Games symbol on reels 2, 3, and 4. Five Free Spins are initially awarded together with a 3x multiplier for all wins realized during this session. The Free Spins are played at the same payline and line bet that activated the feature.
You can also trigger the Free Spins Directional Wilds Bonus feature by getting the Compass on any position on reel 3. Before any payouts are evaluated, the Compass spins and stops at any 4 directions. The game makes use of a fixed 40-lines but this should not worry you as you can easily determine your bet value using the adjustable line bets that run from 0.01 to 10.00. The total bet you can place when playing at maximum line bet is 400 coins. Miss Havana is the highest paying symbol as she pays out 3,000 coins when you have her appearing in a line on all 5 reels. Q and J are the lowest paying symbols on this game, but they still manage to pay out 800 coins when you have 5 of a kind in a line.
