Howling Fun

Howling Fun Slot

Whether it’s roller coasters, jumping out of a plane or watching a chilling horror film, we really do like to get scared sometimes. So Howling Fun has decided to take the scariness of Halloween and bring it as an all-year round daily holiday. Can you battle against the ghoulish figures of the night to complete victory in this Eyecon game?

A Visual Treat More Than Trick

Whether your favourite scary villain is a werewolf (in front of a full moon), Frankenstein, a witch (on a broomstick), a mummy or a conventional monster you are very well catered for. That’s not forgetting a cunning looking Dracula and the mischievous looking Devil. There’s even a Gothic castle symbol, complete with menacing dark clouds, imposing towers and burning windows.

The only ones that don’t seem to match are a rather sad looking orange dragon and a pink candle on top of a skull. If the dragon looked a bit angry and fiery and the candle was removed to make the skull more prominent it would really make a difference.

The title and background though are well chosen. The letters are all green as though they have been drenched in slime, a theme that is used for the background and the Ace and King letters. For the most part, the symbols are so great that you’ll almost be wishing that they had removed the King too, to make space for an extra horror symbol like a cauldron or a ghost.

Playing Is a Scream

It’s really easy to change any of the settings. You can bet as little as £0.01 per line. Or you can play devil-may-care and go for the Max Bet button. The same ease applies with the option of choosing lines. You can choose just one line, or anything between that and 25. Making life simpler if you want to go all out for victory, you can hit the Max Lines button. Or you can make the game do the work and press Autoplay, especially as it offers 10, 20, 50 and 100 game spins.

The Options button only offers the paylines, but has all the information on bonuses that you will need, as well as the ranking and worth of each symbol. A nice touch is that each line is matched by a highlighting of the relevant number on the side of the reels. And you can look at each line within the paytables section.

When you qualify for the Gamble Bonus, you can win by correctly guessing which of the 2 available choices will be revealed. It will go on until either you press Take Win, 5 correct choices have been made or you guess incorrectly. Or, if you’re doing exceptionally well, by reaching the limit of £32,000.

The Devil Is in the Detail

The 5-reel 25-line game isn’t hard to play which makes it all the more fun. All the symbols mentioned earlier are regular ones, except for the mummy, castle and Devil. The mummy is useful as three or more triggers a Prize Pick. Within the triggering combination, you can pick one for each scattered mummy, which is worth up to 100x the total wager.

You’ll certainly want to find this haunted castle as they will generate you free games. If you get 3, 4 or 5 scattered castle symbols, you’ll get 15, 20 or 25 games respectively. Free games can be retriggered a standard maximum of 15 times.

The Devil symbol is most certainly a calling card, especially as he doubles your points when on a winning line. He only appears on the second and fourth reels, and replaces all other symbols except for the mummy and castle ones.

Dracula’s Top of the Pile

Quite aptly for such a bloodsucker, Dracula is the most valuable of the nine regular cards. His maximum value of 5,000 is five times the value of the gnarling Frankenstein, whose 1,000 points for five is worth double that of the witch and werewolf. There’s plenty of value with the more common cards. If you’re able to get five monsters or candle skulls you can get 200 games, while five aces or kings can get you 100 spins.

As the majority of the cards are so memorable, it should be quite a while before you tire of their appearance.

Howls About That?

We may be officially too old to enjoy Halloween but who cares? Howling Fun is easy to play, has memorable visuals, the bonuses aren’t difficult to work out, and there’s a return to player rate of 94.9%.  It’s definitely fun but the howling is up to you.
