What you’ll notice when you first load the game is the option to play for real or to play for fun, two upside down, hanging monkeys nervously looming above each option, a golden statue slipping out of their hands. Once you’ve determined how you want to proceed, the base game will load and the fun will begin.
The reels are a busy lot of icons, surrounded by a whole host of funny looking monkeys, the big grey one grinning out at you being the zealous ape we mentioned earlier. Despite his red eyes, which look like they’re from a horror film, this fella isn’t harmful at all, in fact he’s pretty jolly. He especially comes to life when you make a win, though you can turn the animation off if you find the chest thumping and screeching a bit much.
That may well be the case considering most of the monkeys you see make some noise or other throughout the game. What is most odd though is the soundtrack accompanying the jungle sounds. If you opt for the demo round, you have what is called ‘Vegas Radio’ playing some out of place music that, while giving you a Vegas feel, doesn’t exactly fit in with the title. It’s a shame as the effects elsewhere are actually good. Yet another reason to play for real…?
Putting that aside though, there are eight different symbols in total, one of which is the bonus icon that is constantly shown underneath the grid. This lights up when you find all three of them. You will then be taken to the bonus round, but we’ll come back to that in a minute. As for the other symbols, the highest amount you can win yourself is a steady 50.00 credits.
Coconut Madness
Returning to the mini game: when you find the statues a bamboo window will appear filled with several of the icons, all of which are holding coconuts. Players need to select three from the group, and as they do so the tropical nuts will crack open and a sum of money will be won. Not only will you be richer, but you’ll have a craving for Bounty to go along with it – good job you’ve got the pennies to pay for it.
Place Your Bets
Laying your stake down for the title is easy, for there is a Stake window and two large red arrows beside it, all you need to do is tap up or down depending on the amount you require.
