Texas Tina Slots

Texas Tina, by US-based software developer IGT, is a truly American-styled slot machine that takes players on a journey to the Lone Star state and deep into the south of the US where everything is big and everything is grand.

It is a 5 reel, 20 pay-line slot that has been on the market for some time now and has a classic slots feel to it whilst not really being subjected to the rigors of old father time which is a pleasant surprise to witness upon playing.

Slots such as Texas Tina created the foundations for future generations of titles by IGT and so it is always a delight when you get time to play them and they still feel like they are not out of place in the current market.

If you are looking at trying to get an idea of what sort of game Texas Tina is then you do not have to look much further than another IGT release in the form of Lobstermania. Lobstermania is undoubtedly my favorite IGT slot of all time and up there with the greatest so there is not a better compliment I can pay to this great title.

Theme

The theme is basically old school America. I'm thinking Calamity Jane and the era of thigh-slapping, horse-riding, and yee-hawing antics before financial ruin hit the Deep South and oil began to dry up. To put it another way, you remember the characters from Dallas and Dynasty? Well, imagine Texas Tina as their great grandmother. If you don't even remember Dallas or Dynasty then you are officially dead to us!

Symbols across the reels are all linked to the 19th century period of old America. Horses, cowgirl boots, and a gold encrusted “TT” motif over a map of the US give this slot an old American feel from the very start.

It stops short of feeling like a proper Western slot which have proven to be popular over the years. In terms of its theme it feels a lot like the gratifying Western Belles slot but this has a more archaic feel to it.

Features

Big fans of bonus features will be pleased to hear that there are plenty of bonuses to trigger when playing on this slot and they all offer something different that bring something unique to the table with free spins and cash prizes up for grabs.

Family Portrait Bonus – You will not be surprised to hear that this is triggered when you hit three or more family portrait symbols across the reels. It is a very basic bonus feature where by you must select a family portrait from the selection available on screen and that will then reveal a cash prize.

Strike It Rich Bonus – This bonus is another one where you can earn an instant cash prize. If you find Strike It Rich symbols landing on the pay-lines then they will transform into oil derricks and those will then reveal a multiplier for your bet between 2x and 25x so it's a nice little win to pick up in the base game.

Texas Tornado Super Scatter Bonus – If you want some good old free spins action then you've come to the right place. If you land three or more Texas Tornado Scatters across the pay-lines then you will trigger this bonus where you can win up to 250 credits and then an additional 15 free spins on top of that win. It's like free spins but with a compensation win being paid up before you've even hit your free spins.

Summary

It can often be heard around the casino floors that they don't make slot machines like they used to.

The new generation of 3D slots over multiple screens where there are multi-level bonus features and different types of gameplay to choose from might be impressive enough but this is a slot machine for the purists.

The multiple bonus features keep the action going in both the base game and the free spins. It feels like you are playing something historic. The only way I can describe it is that it feels like when you put on an old Pink Floyd vinyl on. It might be dusty and from years gone by but it still sounds contemporary and it would not be out of place in today's charts.
