Overview & Features

The Dark Knight Slots game is a five-reel slot machine. Players should note there are two variations of this game. The first produced by IGT and the second by Microgaming. Both of the Batman vs. Joker slot games are similar.

Both games feature massive progressives, with IGT’s version linked to the Mega Jackpots network, and Microgaming’s linked to the Microgaming network. The only major difference between the two is one is available online (Microgaming) while the other is only available in B&M casinos.

The Microgaming Dark Knight slots game has 243 ways to win. A 243 ways win slot is similar to some of the Aristocrat games where the actual pay lines don’t play a role in how the game is played.  What matters is that the player must land a set of matching symbols from left to right over the 5 reels irrespective of where it lands. The minimum coin value for this game is $0.01 There are 14 different winning symbols to complete combinations.

The winning symbols are separated over five lower-value symbols which are represented by the 10, Jack, Queen King and the Ace. The other nine winning symbols are represented by various characters from the movie such as Commissioner Gordon, Rachel Dawes and Harvey Dent. The most obvious part of the game is that Batman holds the highest value and can earn the player a total of 2,000 credits if there is combination of five Batman symbols across the five reels.

The Dark Knight Slots game also has two bonus symbols which you would expect to find in a slots game – the wild symbol and the scatter symbol. The wild symbol is represented by the Batman logo and it can be substituted with any other winning symbols during a slot pull. One of the things that you will see in the game is that the wild symbols will appear stacked on all of the five reels. This means that there is a possibility for the player to fill a reel with only wild symbols.

The Batman symbol and these other symbols have the chance of getting the same prizes. The scatter symbol is represented by the iconic promotional graffiti which is found on the posters for the Dark Knight film. In order to win with this symbol, the player must hit two scatter symbols or more on any of the five reels in any position. The scatter symbols gives the player the chance of the get the biggest prize in normal standard gameplay and a possibility of getting up to 15,000 credits if the player gets five scatter symbols across the five reels.

Bonus Rounds on the Dark Knight Slots Machine

In order for the game to be a little more attractive for slot players and fans alike, Microgaming has included bonus games which makes the gameplay more exciting. The bonus features that you will find in the Dark Knight Slots game are the random appearances of Batman and Joker, the Free spin and the progressive jackpot. The first feature is self-explanatory. This random feature can come up at any point during the normal gameplay and it is represented through an animation of Batman or the Joker popping up on to the screen and giving the player extra prizes.

There are different variations in which the feature can be played out. Batman can pop up and turn a whole reel wheel into wild symbols or he could do it in random places on the screen (on two or three reels). The Joker throws a bomb in the direction of your winnings which gives the player bonus credits. At the end of the day, no matter when the random feature comes up, it leads to an additional winning for the player which gives the game more excitement while playing.

The scatter symbol gives the player the chance to not only win prizes but also the opportunity to play a free spins game. If the player manages to hit three or more scatter symbols on any of the five reels then there is a winning of a total of 15 free spins. There is also a 2x multiplier which means that all of the players winnings are doubled and there is also a possibility that there will be a random Batman or Joker appearance which could add to the players winnings.

The progressive jackpot feature is one which also happens randomly whether the player wins or loses. Once activated, the game will shift to a new screen that features a large wheel with Batman on one side and the Joker on the other. The game will ask you to choose a side with each character having an arrow that points to a part on the big wheel. Once the player makes the choice, the wheel will spin and will land on one of four different jackpots – Mini, Minor, Major and the Mega prize of £1,000,000 or more.
