Cleopatra Treasure Slots

Ancient Egypt is a fertile spawning ground for casino slot games. The dusty desert landscape has given rise to innumerable video slots, from Pharaoh’s Tomb and Crown of Egypt to Mighty Sphinx and Valley of Kings (annoyingly, there’s also a game almost identically titled to this one: Cleopatra’s Treasure, from iSoftbet). Yet another title to roll off the well-worn production line is Cleopatra Treasure, from software developer GamesOS. Incorporating 5 reels and 20 paylines, this new Egypt-themed slot aims to grab a piece of the pie.

The symbols in Cleopatra Treasure are the same as in many of the aforementioned games. Thus, we have the ubiquitous scarab, symbols of an elaborate vase and a golden pharaoh and a depiction of the Egyptian goddess Bast (in cat form). There are also playing card symbols, from 9 through to Ace. Above the reels, there’s a blue gemstone, spinning continually above the game’s ornate logo.

Off We Go To Egypt

Cleopatra has been fascinating Egyptologists – as well as writers, poets, filmmakers and producers – for aeons. Even setting aside the casino industry’s proclivity for churning out Egypt-themed slots like an industrious workshop, it’s no surprise Cleopatra has been honoured with her very own slot game.

You’ll find the gameplay here to be reliably smooth; the last Ptolemaic ruler would certainly approve. Once you’ve got the formalities out of the way (you can stake a minimum of 0.05, with the maximum bet set at 5 per payline, so 100 in total), it’s on to the base game, which you can enjoy on AutoPlay if you’re too lazy to manually trigger the reels. The usual story awaits: hit matching combinations to trigger pay-out wins. There’s also a random bonus to sink your teeth into – although it’s hardly worth shouting about. More on that later…

Cleopatra Treasure includes wild and scatter symbols, both of which should collude to increase your chances of winning. The scatter symbol is Cleopatra herself. Hit three or more to trigger free spins; three buys 5 freebies, while four and five gives you 10 or 20. Unlike other symbols, which pay left-to-right, the scatter pays wherever it appears on the reels.

The wild here is the scarab. It functions as a regular wild, substituting for regular symbols to help you make up winning combinations. As ever, the scatter is immune from such replacement.

More Bonuses

Let’s face it, wilds and scatters are pretty de rigueur when it comes to casino slot games. Implementing them is about as expected of a slot game as a bar is expected to stock alcohol. However, Cleopatra Treasure introduces a supplementary bonus to wet eager gamers’ whistles.

The bonus jug triggers a Treasure Hunting game. All you need to do is hit three or more and you’ll go foraging for ancient artefacts. OK, we’ve made it sound a little more exciting than it actually is. In reality, you’ll be shown three urns, each containing a random bonus prize. Simply pick one and hope for the best. Be aware, though, that the best won’t be particularly high; you’re looking at a top prize of 5. In most cases, the urns will contain values such as 0, 0.5 and 1.

In summary, Cleopatra Treasure has one of the most bog-standard bonuses we’ve come across. Tutankhamen have a go, though.

Cleopatra’s Treasure

We all know Cleopatra was minted, and you can get your hands on some of her hard-won loot if you play your cards right. The largest jackpot in the game is a cool 4,000 coins (or 20,000 at maximum bet), not bad for what could be tantamount to a few minutes’ work. To hit pay dirt, you need to land five jackpot symbols on an activated pay-line. In order to win 20 Gs, this means you’ll have to bet 5 and one coin per payline.

Low-rollers needn’t slouch off just yet, though; there’s still a handsome 200 jackpot to be one even if you only stake 5 cents per pay-line. Naturally, the more lines you play, the more you stand to win.

Cleopatra’s Conclusion

With a reputed return-to-player average of 96%, Cleopatra Treasure might be worth a spin. Just don’t go in expecting your world to be forever altered. The graphics are far from earth-shattering (some gamers have complained that the colours are actually too bright), the gameplay is almost soul-crushingly simplistic and there are no prize multipliers to speak of. Personally, we’d go searching for bigger game.
