Hear Me Roar

Hear Me Roar Slots

Usually when someone says the words ‘hear me roar’, it’s to instill a sense of power, that you’re not so weak as you appear. So why have Genesis Gaming gone for an adorable interface covered in baby animals? We could say that we think it’s an ironic play on words, but really we just think that the brand fancy having yet another cute animal themed video slot to their games list. Even though we’re not against the creation of this game, those who have played Galapagos Islands may want to turn back now, for you’re going to get much of the same.

If you’re still about and eager to start a playthrough of this 3x5 matrix of fun, then you’re best locating the betting buttons and hopping to it; sitting around won’t get you anywhere. And you have plenty of places to be, like unlocking free spins, gaining multipliers, and working through the various lines of the 243 ways to play. This may be a compact title to interact with, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t deliver; play alongside us to see what we mean.

Into the Jungle

It may sound like we’ve been giving Hear Me Roar a hard time, but we’re about to give it our seal of approval when we discuss its style and design. You see, while this isn’t the most visually stimulating that Genesis Gaming has designed, it has a wonderfully 3D rich backdrop and foreground that helps make this title the success it is. Not to mention they’ve gone all out to make the animals look uber charming - who doesn’t like baby lions with big green eyes? If you said no, you’re a savage…!

What is more, while you may feel a tad underwhelmed by the aesthetic, allow us to draw your attention to the graphics of Belle’s Bandits, another game from Genesis. That title has a very downplayed interface, with barely any personality or vibrance to it, whereas Hear Me Roar is a leafy kingdom. Yes, you have a framed network of images that keeps the whole layout conventional, but a lot of slots do that, and so why penalise the game for sticking to the basics?

Lines Be Damned

When you play real cash slots, you tend to have certain lines that you have to land in order to make a winning combo, but with ways to play that rulebook goes out of the window. All you need to do is match symbols from left to right, without any breaks in between them, and you’re soon to be in the money. Furthermore, the more ways that you have to play, the more likely you’ll land on a winning tile and get that cash.

Due to this fact, we’d say that these type of slots are even more accommodating than your typical 10 winlines ones, especially for novice gamers, and so if you’re new to scene, get playing. You can always stick to playing for fun if you’re really unsure about how to play, but we promise you that Hear Me Roar is a doddle to navigate. Oh, and in test mode, the minimum bet is 0.25 and max 2.50.

Paw Prints in the Dirt

The bonus icon is a paw print, and so you need to follow the trail all the way to the free spins, where either 8, 15 or 20 rounds will be your reward. Better than a pile of dung, are we right?! To get any of those three results, you need to get between three and five matches of the paw symbol, with five resulting in the better outcome. Though, if we’re honest, as free spins can eventually get boring, sometimes less is more in the case of a bonus like this one.

Fortunately, you have more than the spins to keep you satisfied, as the wilds that appear during the feature will reveal multipliers, helping to increase your kitty to a comfortable, cushy amount. Just imagine if you get five wilds in one go, my oh my, you’ll be banking a big pile of cash once the round is over.

Does Clucking Count as Roaring?

Not all of Genesis Gaming slots roar with the might of ten lions, sometimes they cluck through the gameplay, taking a more subtle and oriental approach, like Year of the Rooster. This 243 ways to play, inside yet another 3x5 matrix, will have you spinning to find wilds and free spins, two of Genesis Gaming’s most prized features to showcase. Year of the Rooster is a visually modern game as well, which works out better for those users who crave a contemporary edge when they play.

All Bark, No Bite

Hear Me Roar wasn’t a show-stopper for us, and while not every online activity needs to be, we prefer a game to have more variety than what we’ve been shown here. It’s worth a punt, if you have the funds to spare, but honestly you might as well play for fun and save your money for a better title. There’s a lot of good slots out there, don’t run out of cash before you get to try them.
