    Cat in Vegas Slot Machine

There are many cats in Vegas – that we know. These cool cats roll into town with dollars in their pocket and dollar signs in their eyes, hoping to take the megalithic casinos for all they’ve got. As for the actual cats – y’know, the felines – they skulk between the dumpsters looking for scraps.

But not this cat. The cat at the centre of Cat in Vegas – Playtech’s 5-reel video slot – is cooler than the other side of the pillow. Follow him as he guides you through this feature-rich casino game, which comes with 20 paylines, numerous bonus features and a bumper progressive jackpot.

    Meet… Felix

When you load up the slot, you’ll be treated to a little intro movie starring the eponymous cat in Vegas, a dapper feline if ever there was one. This cat – Felix is his name – approaches Las Vegas from across the windblown desert. As he gets closer to the neon-lit city, his togs becomes smarter; slickly clad, he is about to drop into the casino and make the gaming floor purr.

    Viva Cat Vegas

The immortal Las Vegas strip is visible behind the reel grid, which is itself bordered by the kind of bulbs that surround entertainers’ mirrors. We can just about discern the mock Eiffel Tower that belongs to Paris Las Vegas as well as part of the Bellagio. The title of the game appears above the reels, with the ‘A’ in CAT delineated by a cat’s ears logo. In the top right-hand corner, players can view the progressive jackpot as it currently stands. The slot’s reputed RTP is 92%, which in truth is rather low.

The aim of the game, as ever, is to find matching combinations of three, four or five symbols. Do so, and you’ll trigger pay-outs and activate lucrative bonus features. You can bet between 0.01 and 100 on between one and 20 lines.

There are just three high value symbols in this one – Felix, decked out in sunglasses and a straw hat, chilling with a beverage; Felix brandishing a paw-full of American dollars; and Felix clutching a stack of casino chips. Playing cards in the form of neon-lit 10s, Js, Qs, Ks and As constitute the lower value icons.

Among the high-value regular symbols, the one of Felix and the poker chips pays best, awarding 70 for three, 600 for four and 1,500 for five. The icon of Felix and the banknotes, meanwhile, pays 50 for three, 400 for four and 1,000 for five. Felix with the booze is 30 for three, 100 for four and 500 for five.

    Special Symbols

The aforementioned symbols grant pay-outs when found in favourable combinations, but there are a few special icons, too. The wild, for instance – which can stand in for others and help you form wins – is represented by a large golden ‘WILD’ logo, on a purple backdrop. The wild can act as a surrogate for all regular symbols, and also furnishes players with handsome pay-outs of 100 for three, 1,000 for four and 10,000 for five.

The scatter, meanwhile, is the one which features the words ‘The King Show’. Find the scatter on reels two, four and five and it’ll trigger free games – up to 20 spins and five sticky wilds are possible.

The Wheel Of Luck icon, which appears only on the central reel, triggers the Wheel of Luck Bonus. In this, Felix spins the wheel for a multiplier prize. He will continue to do so until you land on a previously visited segment, at which point the round ends.

The final bonus feature is triggered when you find the BONUS icon on reels one, three and five. And yes, this is where the progressive jackpot can be won.

Our eponymous cat will play four slot machines awarding multiplier wins until they break down.

Keep an eye out, though, for the sequence of red lights appearing above the reels. If they illuminate, you’ll scoop the enormous progressive prize. The best part is, there are no minimum wagering requirements expected of players: everyone is in with a shot of hitting the progressive.

    Claws for Thought

Cat In Vegas is quite evidently a feature-rich game; not only are there wild and scatter symbols, but the wild grants pay-outs and the scatter awards free spins. As if that wasn’t enough, there are two bonuses and a progressive jackpot. On the downside, the return-to-player percentage is rather low. Give this one a go, but don’t expect to be deluged by frequent wins, as it’s pretty unlikely.
