Wizard Blizzard Slot

Wizard Blizzard Slot Machine

Magic themed online casino slots are very popular with players, and Wizard Blizzard is one of the newest games to join the ranks of titles where witches, owls, spell-books and black cats are featured on the reels.  Talking of reels, this game has 5 of them, along with symbols in 3 rows and there’s 30 paylines running from the left side. Like much of the range from games developer Casino Technology, it’s an attractive slot machine, with everything presented in a realistically detailed style, although also like many of their games, it isn’t mobile-optimised, so you will have to enjoy the game on a desktop PC or laptop.

The unusual name of the Wizard Blizzard video slot is explained by the snowy forest that can be seen behind the reels, while the Wizard turns up to trigger one of the main bonus features of the game, where players will see whole reels of stacked symbols. There’s also a wild black cat which can replace other symbols if needed, plus you can scoop a magical 75 free spins when enough scatter symbols land in view at once.

Players can activate 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or all 30 lines, for just 0.01 per line, or even practice on the free Wizard Blizzard video slots provided by Casino Technology. In normal gameplay, at least 3 of a symbol type will be needed on adjacent reels from the left, across any active line to claim a win.

Playing Wizard Blizzard

Colourful high-card symbols, decorated with strange swirls to make them look a little magical, will line up to create the lower-value combinations, with each being worth 10x, 20x, or 100x the line bet when stopping on 3, 4, or 5 reels at a time. A mysterious gold pendant, a crystal ball, spell-book and owl are next up, each returning 20x, 35x, or 150x the line stake, while a witch pays 40x, 100x, or the top prize of 1,000x when she’s seen across an active line.

A black cat, with a jewel stuck on its forehead is the wild symbol, and while this unfortunate moggie only appears on reels 2 to 5, when it does so, it’s able to substitute for all except the scatter and bonus symbols if a winning combination can then be completed. It’s also able to extend wins across extra reels if that means you get a higher prize, so this black cat crossing your path can be a real sign of good fortune.

Any 3 or more game logo scatter symbols, in any positions, will be worth a prize equal to 300x the stake on a line, while it then sees the start of a special free spins bonus feature.

Free Spins for No-Risk Rewards

While 3 scatter symbols triggers just 15 bonus spins, if more are in view at once, more spins are awarded. It goes up by 5 extra spins for each additional scatter, and if you’re lucky enough to see 15 of these symbols filling all positions on the reels, the initial payout is still 300x the line bet, but you are then treated to 75 free games.

That’s a whole lot of spins in which to claim some winnings, without having to risk a penny, although payouts are a little different in this round. Should 3 or more scatters land in a single bonus spin, the bonus round is retriggered and additional free games will be added on to the end.

Wizard Bonus Feature

The Wizard only needs to appear in a single place to award a quick in-game bonus feature, which sees 3, 4, or 5 entire reels filled with a single playing card, or picture symbol at once. It could even be the scatter, which of course, triggers the free spins games.

This may be a quick feature, but has the potential for some of the best rewards of the whole game, although it isn’t completely guaranteed that winning combinations will be formed, as it’s possible for 3 reels that aren’t connected to fill with a symbol, and have nothing in between them to complete lines.

Magically Multiplying Winnings

An optional gamble feature is a way to potentially multiply wins of less than 10x the total bet. Players will see a playing card and can double the win amount by guessing the colour, or quadruple it if they get the suit correct.

They can then either collect the win, or go again up to a potential high limit of 50x the triggering stake, but of course, any wrong picks along the way will lose the gamble, along with the original win.

Final Thoughts on Wizard Blizzard

There’s not much of a blizzard going on in the background, and the wizard only makes an occasional appearance, but the Wizard Blizzard video slot is still a fun game that follows the hugely popular magical theme, while also featuring some nice bonus rounds.

Wild substitutions are pretty standard in online casino slot games, but having the potential to land up to 75 free spins is something unusual, and even the low limit of 15 extra games is fairly generous, while the Wizard Bonus feature can lead to some huge payouts if you are lucky enough to get a high-value symbol across multiple reels.
