Silver Creek Giant Slots

The first thought we had when loading up the Sliver Creek Giant video slot from Casino Technology was ‘‘Aww, cute’’, as it’s a game themed around animals such as bears, foxes and otters. They are all designed for maximum cuteness, with big, shiny eyes, except for the salmon, which is probably difficult to give cute features to.

Slot game developer Casino Technology has crafted Silver Creek Giant with great care and alongside the detailed animal symbols, there’s elaborately-designed high card icons, a flower and a nice background image of the forest and river where these critters live.

This is a 5-reel slot machine, where symbols are in 3 rows and 30 paylines run from left to right. Gamblers will want to land matching symbols across a line, in an unbroken sequence to claim a win, which is all pretty standard and ensures that inexperienced players will be able to enjoy it with the minimum learning curve. Everyone should enjoy the free spins bonus feature, while wild substitutions and scatter awards, plus the option to gamble winnings should help online casino players to head up the creek, with a paddle.

Paddling up the Creek

Free Silver Creek Giant video slots are available, and to start spinning the reels for real cash, you’ll need at least 0.30 per spin to have all lines in play, and while it’s possible to activate 10, 15, 20, or 25 paylines, this means that not all combinations that appear on the reels will count. There’s a handy Autoplay option if you don’t want to click each time, while you can also play with the sound on or off.

Although the animals are the main attractions here. The playing card symbols J, Q, K and A are almost as good-looking, so players won’t be disappointed when they see these land across the reels to complete the lower-value winning lines. Clicking the ‘I’ button opens up a pay-table of prize amounts, with the card symbols all worth 0.15, 0.6, and 3x the bet when stopping on 3, 4, or 5 reels of a payline respectively.

The adorable otter, the fox and a raccoon will each return wins equal to 0.60, 3, and 12 times the stake when they land, while the salmon is worth up to 30x. A smiling bear is the Giant of the title, and while he’s not actually worth anything when filling a payline, he’s the wild symbol of the game. This means that he can substitute for others, either bridging any gaps in a continuous run of a symbol type, or extending a win-line of 3 matching symbols across the fourth reel for a higher payout. The wild doesn’t land on reels 1 or 5 however.

Flowery Bonus Spins

The scatter symbol takes us away from the animals for a bit and comes in the shape of a bright blue flower. Horticulturalists will probably recognise it, but all we know is that this colourful plant can stop in any 3 or more places at once to first award a scatter prize and then launch a free spins bonus round.

Either 5, 15, or 20 free games will begin, depending on how many scatter symbols triggered the round. Payouts are slightly different in the free spins games, but if the bear appears in any spin, he will stay locked in position for the remaining part of the bonus games, which can lead to multiple wild symbols on the reels, and hopefully multiple winning lines formed.

Gamble Feature

There’s an option to double or quadruple wins of less than 10x the stake, in a gamble feature, with players correctly guessing the colour, or suit of a face-down playing card multiplying the last win. Any correct pick gives gamblers the further option to multiply it again, up to a 50x the stake high limit, but getting it wrong at any point loses the initial win along with anything earned so far in the round.

Thankfully, it’s possible to risk just 50% of a win, keeping the other half in case it goes wrong, and of course, this is just an optional round, so anyone who doesn’t want to risk a prize won’t have to.

Grin and Bear it?

This beautifully-designed game will certainly appeal to anyone who likes wildlife themed online slot machines, and there’s no shortage of similar titles available. From Alaska Wild to Zany Zebra, the choice is huge, although perhaps closest in style and theme is the Wild North video slot by Play ‘n’GO.

But Sliver Creek Giant has some unique design features, and while the bonus rounds are nothing that hasn’t been seen before, free spins with locked wild symbols and gamble games are certainly welcome additions to any online casino slot.

Although it isn’t mobile-optimised, this is still a game we can recommend, with useful features that can bring in plenty of winnings, and it’s all fully tested for fair play by independent labs, so you will on average, see most wagers returned to your balance, while still having a good chance to cash out some big wins as you head up the creek.
