Behind the pixies and the toadstools, you’ll find a 25 line slot with a betting range of 1c to $5 per line (25c to $125 per spin for the full set of lines). There is an auto-play and plenty of configuration options for the music and animations – which can be useful for slower connection speeds.
Of the regular symbols, the unicorn has the biggest prize attached. This pays out from 2 on a win line and up, and the top prize for 5 is a healthy 2500 coins. You’ll get 500 for just 4, 100 for 3 and 10 for 2. Next comes the leprechaun at 1000 coins for 5 of a kind. The fairy, wizard and pixie follow worth 750, 500 and 400 for 5 respectively. Playing card symbols make up the smaller wins. In my experience wins were frequent in this game, though on the smaller side – making for a lower variance game.
You’ll find 3 special symbols on the reels. There is a wild symbol, which has the word ‘wild’ made out of branches on it. This substitutes for all of the regular symbols (though not the other special ones). There is scatter symbol which is a stone face with the word ‘scatter’. 5 of these will get you 40 free spins, 4 will get you 20 and 3 will get you 10. These symbols trigger spins anywhere on the reels and do not need to be on specific win lines. The final special symbol is a green face (half tree, half person maybe?). 3 of these on a win-line will trigger the ‘Enchanted Quest’ bonus round, the green faces you get, the bigger your potential prize.
Unfortunately Octopus Gaming do not publish their RTP %s or par sheets, so it is unknown what the RTP is on these games.
While the quest bonus is essentially just a pick-em game, it does have 5 different screens as you make your way through the forest. This game can also result in some big wins - up to 53,760 coins are possible. First you pick from 5 flowers, next you have a choice of clocks / watches and then you need to choose a magic potion. As you progress more and more of the choices will end your game, while the remainder award cash prizes and allow you to carry on the quest. The final round is where you choose a mushroom – if you manage that you’ll meet the unicorn for the opportunity to pick a big prize.
The other bonus is the free spins game. There is a different tune, and a countdown on top of the screen showing how many spins you have remaining. Once you finish you get a scroll-like message showing your total winnings.
Despite my mocking of mystical type slot clichés in the intro and dodgy puns aside, I did enjoy this game. It is smooth running, and the small wins keep your bankroll topped up while you are waiting for either the generous number of free spins or multi-screen quest game. If you like this type of theme, this game should be on your list to check out for yourself soon!
