Medieval Magic Slot Machine

There is something about the medieval period that has us thinking of magic. Maybe it’s to do with all the stories of witchcraft found from that time, or maybe because of the various media that promotes this idea of the past. Either way it enchants us like any good spell should.

We just can’t help but eat more of it up, and so Bede Gaming have come to us with more themed and fabled goodies to keep us well supplied for the foreseeable future. Their take on the medieval period is similar to what you’ve seen in renditions like The Sword in the Stone, so if you enjoyed that you’re going to love this. Probably more so because you can engage with it in a more interactive way.

So what can you expect from this slot? Well there are a number of tiles that reward decent amounts of cash, followed by a couple of special features, and then there is the general charm of the activity which is quaint, funny, and colourful. For more than just the cliff notes, read on.

Over the Drawbridge

Although there’s a lot of magic going on here, you’re visiting a castle and are among royalty, so you’ll want to dress smart and only speak when spoken to. Think of your reputation. There seems to be a tournament of some kind going on, with various tents lined with random objects there for you to fondle as you make your rounds. Then there are the prizes, the piles of coins, for those who win the favour of the king and impress him so.

The castle and its grounds may look quiet and normal now, but with the possibility of dragons afoot, who knows how long it’ll be before flames lick up the sides of the stone walls, and valiant knights have to rush in to save the day.

Inside the Grounds

There are a lot of folks to meet here, so we’ll try and make the introductions as fleeting as possible so that you can go about flexing those muscles and showing off your skills. There is a knight, the king, a wizard and a dragon who make up some of the most exciting icons of the entire game. While the more mundane symbols of keys and card values make up lesser paying ones.

The dragon, although a rampaging brute, actually is a character you’ll want to meet for he brings in the maximum amount of money, to the tune of 10,000 credits! It makes sense that a dragon is hoarding so much money, given their love of gold, but we didn’t expect to ever want to meet an angry dragon on our journey.

What is more, this fella is the wild, and so he will remove other symbols and double your wins if a combo is made. Nice. From there you have the wizard symbol who brings in a selection of 15 extra spins, which can be re-activated at any time for a further 12 rounds.

Guidelines and Rules

Every competition has them; in Medieval Magic you have to be aware of the ones imposed on the paylines and betting ranges. Namely that you can only play with between 1 and 20 paylines, though more is advised to ensure a more stimulating and rewarding playthrough.

Then there is the betting range that begins from 0.01 and increases up to 5 credits, meaning your maximum bet will be 100 coins. You can manually set these amounts or go for the max bet option (should that be how you want to play it).

The autoplay option is a great way to speed everything up and give you a break from clicking, something that is never a bad thing when a long hard slot machine battle is in progress. You need to decide the number of waves you want to play, but these can be stopped and altered at any time if you should change your mind.

The Outcome

The castle is in quite a state now, but you’re walking away with a heap of money, so that seems like a job well done to us, even if it didn’t go according to plan. In all seriousness though, Medieval Magic is a good outing from the Bede brand, it just doesn’t move us in a way that would have us rushing back for more.
