The Sky’s the Limit
All of the Top Gun characters are here – Goose, Iceman, Charlie, Jester, Stinger etc – and they each pay out a different prize for spinning them on your reels. There’s no sign of Tom Cruise’s Maverick, presumably for some kind of contractual reason, but hopefully that shouldn’t put you off too much.
But first up are the playing card symbols. These are split into two camps, with Jacks and Queens paying 5 coins, 15 coins and 25 coins for spinning three, four or five of a kind on your five reels. The Ace and King symbols pay 10, 25 and 50 coins on the same principles.
Next up are those two things that no self-respecting fighter pilot can do without: the Jacket and the Aviator Sunglasses. These earn 15 coins for spinning three of a kind, 50 coins for four and 100 coins for the full five.
Next up are two of the mainstays of the movie franchise: Stinger and the Jester. Spin three of these on one of your paylines and you will be rewarded with 25 coins, four earns 75 coins and five pays a very tidy 150 coins.
Two of the movie’s leading male leads – Goose and the Iceman – take centre stage next, and these two handsome chaps pay some rather handsome rewards for spinning three, four or five of them on your reels: 50 coins, 150 coins and 500 coins respectively.
The last of the main game symbols is Charlie, played in the movie by the ravishing Kelly McGillis. She’s in a generous mood and will pay players 100 coins for a trio, 250 coins for a quad and 1,000 coins for the full nap hand.
Wingman Wins
But the fun doesn’t stop there with Top Gun, as there are a few more symbols to get your hands on first. The wild symbol, which is the Top Gun logo, pays 1,500 coins for spinning a full line of five and will also substitute for all other symbols except from the scatter to help players reveal some superb winning combinations.
And what about that scatter symbol? This is the Fighter Jet, and it will appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. Spin three of these and you will trigger the Danger Zone Free Games round. Here you will be rewarded with eight free games, and any Dogfight Wilds that you pick up are enhanced yet further to achieve some phenomenal prizes.
In Top Gun slots, you really DO want to be caught up in a dogfight. That’s because the Dogfight Wilds feature, which can be triggered randomly by any spin, pays out some sky high rewards.
Here you will be treated to the sight of a fighter jet swooping onto your screen and firing missiles at your reels. This will turn the symbols present into wilds – anything up to 15 can be blasted onto your gameboard – and needless to say that this can create some huge wins.
