We were immediately impressed with the graphics of this game; they’re very high quality and look much like the animated film itself. The characters have also been well designed and also look very similar to those from the film, with a pretty female penguin, a small one with a silly hat and goggles and a handsome leading male penguin, designed to look like the Emperor Penguins made famous by the documentary film narrated by Morgan Freeman.

The backdrop to the reels is the view from the ice, a pleasantly rippling sea and of course much more ice. The penguins themselves are positioned along the top of the reels, which are also surrounded by ice and the usual character symbols have an effect which makes them look like they’re carved from ice.

The only thing which jars a little here is the music, though admittedly we’re not sure what music you should choose for a penguin theme. The music they’ve chosen is just very cheesy and 90s keyboard in style. When the reels move you’re greeted with appropriate icy clunks, so it’s just the soundtrack itself we’re not sure about. Overall, great attention to detail and excellent graphics.
