    Farm Adventures Slots

A funny series of events beset us when we thought about the name of this slot, having been certain that no amount of adventuring could ever be had on a farm… then we remembered Babe, Chicken Run and Charlotte’s Web and had to reassess our initial thoughts.

Regrettably not as epic as those films, Farm Adventures from WorldMatch is your child friendly Ronald McDonald style slot machine. We’d go so far as to recommend it to kids if it wasn’t completely unethical and illegal! It just looks so acceptable for all ages, with a design that doesn’t seem particularly aimed at adults.

The tweeting of birds and the oinking of pigs will have you working along, whistling as you harvest your way to the wild, aka the big money maker.

    Farmyard Buddies

Everyone appears to be uber friendly here, which is a little suspicious as pigs and foxes don’t really go together as lifelong friends, not if the real world has taught us anything. But here the magic of fiction is at work and so everything is wonderful, relaxing and perfect. Ahhhhhh.

The pure white of the daisies in the meadow as they sway in the breeze is offset by the large towering hay bales and their rich earthy smell. A distant cluck adding to the idyllic world in which these animals and their farmers reside; we’re sold on it and want to move.

    Something Amiss

As with every ‘perfect world’, there has to be a downside and that is the wolf - downside for them, not for you. You, my friend, are about to become a lot richer when that howling predator pounces on the grid. Customers can find between two and five of this symbol to make a match, with two having a low turnout of 2 credits; the only comfort is that, as the wild, it’ll remove other symbols.

Also amiss are the 7 and money bag tiles, which quite frankly have no place in this slot machine scene - there are plenty of other farm related images to fallback on without resorting to classic iconography. This feels like laziness on WorldMatch’s part, and for that we feel cheated, the facade of happy farming slipping away.

Seeing as the bonus icon is a giant egg, it goes without saying that a lot of eggs will make an appearance in the mini level. What we didn’t expect was for them to be smashed upon the ground to reveal cash, even more weirdly, that the hens are the ones doing it.

Imagine that you’ve managed to seal the deal and get to the level, when you do you’ll see the hens line up; ring the bell and they’ll drop their eggs like smelly yet tasty bombs. They go one at a time, then at the end the cash you’ve won will be added up.

    Local Produce

Farming is seen as a tough life, but there are perks to the lifestyle and that comes in the form of cheaper costs between farms; think of WorldMatch as another farm – you pay them to play. The rates are good, between 0.01 and 1 credits per payline, and there’s 20 of these lines to play around with.

Players can skip out the boring bits by selecting Max Bet and/or Autoplay, the latter of which can play for up to a 1,000 rounds. Obviously if you lose or win during this time, they’ll be paused or terminated. Even if your rounds should end in a loss, you’ll be happier knowing that your index finger hasn’t died a lingering death from overuse - slot machines aren’t kind on your digits.

    A One-Off Adventure

Admittedly, Farm Adventures paints a nice picture, but we doubt anyone will be replaying it that often. After all, the farming life isn’t for everyone. And farm adventuring even less so – it’s a very niche market.

In all seriousness, it comes down to there not being enough stimulation in the title, it’s very gentle and even paced. That’s great for a lot of us, but some punters like their hearts to race faster when they play, and they won’t get that here.
