Enclosed Space

Going off of the title alone, you’d expect to be dealing with a vast amount of space, with no restrictions; we anticipated ways to play rather than conventional paylines. How wrong we were. Not only are there winlines involved here, but RTG have limited the interface to just 25 of them, which to us seems mad. We understand that every slot is different, but surely a bigger matrix would have been better suited to the theme of the title. Minute aspects all come together to change the end result.

Funnily enough though, when it comes to freedom, the brand has offered it in abundance with the betting range, giving users the chance to play from a 0.25 coins stake. That ensures that many gamers can come together and try out the slot, and should they not have the money, they can sample the demo available. Nonetheless, the mind still boggles as to why that level of space wasn’t offered in every area of the slot and not just the betting range. The maximum bet, by the way, is 125.00.

The King of the Rock

The dirty rock of earth that we’re playing on is what we’re aiming to be king (or queen) of, and so we need to get up to five scatters to do that. A great deal of luck comes into play here, but once you trigger it you’ll get a selection of free games. This is the go-to feature that RTG always fall back on; we’ve never seen a game from them without it included. Although it means we always have a feature to play, it makes the variance predictable and restricted.

Unlike some of their other activities though, there’s a pick me selection prior to the games, basically determining how many spins you receive. It doesn’t change up the bare bones of what you’re getting, but it does mean that the level feels more immersive than it would have without that extra layer. We’re still indifferent to the extra spins though.

Hear Me Roar

Any animal lover playing Desert Kingdom will know that the more animals to look at the better, which is why we offer you The Wild Life. From Spielo International, it’s a lesser known slot machine, and yet it delivers virtually the same location and aesthetic. However, it’s obvious that RTG’s attempt is more polished and well rounded.

Here, you’ll get 20 winlines, for a bet of just 1 credits, and will experience free games and little else. It’s limited, and it’s dated, but it’s a feast for those of you that have an animalist craving for all slot machines. If you’re not sold on this activity, why not try the demo and test drive without buying beforehand - we find that it always works well for us.

Deserted

Overall we’d say that Desert Kingdom is a middling sort of real cash slot that has little personality of its own. The theme is what makes it worth the playthrough and not, in fact ,the features, though the free games are better than normal. We wouldn’t be in a rush to play again, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the game fails, but more that it’s limited. A theme which we’ve drawn your attention to all the way through this review. As long as you don’t go expecting miracles, you should be able to savour a quick game or two.
