Play 3 Bandits: Shoot ‘n’ Spin from Novomatic and discover a Wild West-themed slot that delivers exciting gameplay through Jackpot Spin, Shoot ‘n’ Spin, and Multiplier features that are activated by a buck scatter symbol collection mechanic. Killer Kate, Lockpick Luke, and Dynamite Dan may not play as exciting a role in the narrative as you might expect the title characters to in this very volatile game, but the chance to combine two or three features by purchasing bonus-buy options is an exciting prospect.

My first impression of 3 Bandits: Shoot ‘n’ Spin is that Novomatic has created a Wild West-themed slot with three vault-activated features. Your eyes are quickly drawn away from the backdrop of a deserted-looking town to a 5x4 reel grid that features dynamite wilds and three interesting bandits called Killer Kate, Lockpick Luke, and Dynamite Dan. Sadly, the boring base game doesn’t live up to the premise of the narrative, and I quickly transferred my attention to the three safes above the reels that start to burst at the seams after collecting buck scatter symbols. It’s a good animation, and one that definitely keeps you interested as you chase the Shoot ‘n’ Spin, Jackpot Spin, and Multiplier Features.
After 300 spins of this Novomatic slot game, I’m in no doubt that the gameplay, bets, features, and bonuses of 3 Bandits: Shoot ‘n’ Spin revolve around a bucks scatter symbol collection mechanic that opens the vaults that trigger the Shoot ‘n’ Spin, Jackpot Spin, and Multiplier features. Bonus buy includes options that allow you to activate one feature or combine two or three.
While the tumbleweed and symbol collection animations add a bit of visual fun to base game spins, sadly, they were a lot more interesting than my initial experiences of 3 Bandits: Shoot ‘n’ Spin. My first 100-spin session felt like I’d been gunned down in the street, as a top win of 5x my bet led to a crushing 70-coin loss. The second was only a little better with a loss of 50 coins, despite a couple of double-figure wins. I decided to chase a bonus with one more session, but it took a total of 276 spins to trigger the Jackpot Spin Bonus.
Having been awarded 10 free games, a nighttime view, and a set of reels where only keys land provided a nice change of scenery and pace. Multiple keys land on each spin, excitingly reducing the five-count that opens them on each of the jackpot vaults above the reels. The excitement reaches a small climax each time a count reaches one, and I managed minor, one maxi, one major, and four mini jackpot wins totalling 80x the triggering bet. Having been totally bored by the base game until triggering this feature, I decided to experiment with bonus buy options that allow you to combine two or three of the main features.
After winning 80x the bet with one feature, 100x seemed a fair prize to buy two. I was awarded Jackpot Spins and Shoot ‘n’ Spin, and the latter added a fun shooting mechanic, in which the gun fires silver bullets at targets. The aim is to hit 25 or 30 targets to collect target Bounty, but I frustratingly failed. It wasn’t going that great until the last spin, when I unlocked the 500x major jackpot vault for a total feature win of 532x, which felt like I’d robbed the bandits of all the loot I’d lost and more.
Armed with that extra loot, I couldn’t resist purchasing the All 3 Bonus Buy Option, which added the Multiplier Feature into the mix. It’s another exciting feature, with 2x, 3x, and 4x multiplier bullets loaded into a golden gun that fires them onto the reels for potentially big wins. A buy-in of 150x resulted in a win of 280x, making me feel that it’s better to risk the potential very high volatility of this game via bonus-buy options that deliver excitement quickly.
✅ The safe-filling animations keep you interested as you chase the three main features
✅ There’s a nice change of setting and pace when you activate any of the safe features
✅ It’s great that bonus-buy options allow you to combine two or three features
Drawback – The game’s eponymous bandits are three fun characters, but the base game doesn’t live up to the potentially exciting narrative they could have created.
Cash Eruption The Western and Wanted Dead or a Wild are similar slots to 3 Bandits: Shoot ‘n’ Spin, as they have Wild West themes and exciting features. Cash Eruption The Western has a symbol collection mechanic that promotes exciting gameplay. Wanted Dead or a Wild is as volatile as the Wild West with a Duel at Dawn bonus round.
It’s a shame that the three bandits play only minor roles in this Wild West-themed slot adventure, and I have little doubt that players who like active base games will quickly tire of the buck scatter symbol collection mechanic. That’s why I think 3 Bandits: Shoot ‘n’ Spin may be an excellent option for bonus-buy players who like to combine two or three top features to unlock maximum gameplay possibilities.
