Cash Eruption The Western Slot Review

Cash Eruption The Western transported me to a setting where I found the slot play mirrors the highly volatile nature of the Wild West. I quickly realised I could ride off into the sunset with some nice bounty or get gunned down mercilessly like a two-bit outlaw at high noon. I hit my maximum loss limit before completing 50 spins in all of my middle three sessions, but lived to fight another day after bookending these losses with Triple Cash Eruption Bonus wins.

Theme & First Impression

My first impression of Cash Eruption The Western was that IGT has done a good job of creating this Wild West-themed slot. The rousing theme tune instantly conjured images of old movies in my mind, while the cry of an unseen bird circling above created the trepidation that I could end up as vulture food. Guns and cowboy hats are high-paying symbols, while I felt that the reels remained action-packed due to outlaw expanding wilds and the cash bag symbol collections that may trigger features.

Gameplay, Bets, Features, & Bonuses

During my sessions, the gameplay, bets, features, and bonuses of Cash Eruption The Western mainly revolved around a base game where expanding wilds and symbol collections keep the reels active even during losing streaks. The Triple Cash Eruption Bonus created the two moments of significant impact I enjoyed by triggering its Multiplier and Collection features.

Symbol Collections Keep the Base Game Action-Packed

Despite the presence of outlaw expanding wilds, I found wins landed too infrequently in the base game to make this feature one that piqued my interest. The cash bags flying into the safes above the reels added enough action to hold my attention, but I found this collection mechanic to be a bit repetitive after it failed to trigger a feature for a few sessions.

The Collection Feature Offers Jackpot Wins

Activating the collection feature after just 23 spins isn’t something you’re going to do all the time, but it provided me with a good start. I enjoyed how quickly the feature reels filled with coins emblazoned with sheriff stars and jackpots. Each winning spin that reset my respin counter to three heightened my hopes, if not expectations, of big wins. As I landed my 12th coin, I got really excited by the prospect of landing the 15 coins needed to win a 1,000x grand jackpot, and was gutted when it didn’t happen. A 55x my bet return for my first time was a satisfying if unspectacular outcome.

Multipliers Boost Coin Prizes

The respin mechanics of the multiplier feature are very similar to the collection feature, but I liked the twist that the randomly chosen spin multiplier boosts prizes between 2x and 5x. I found this feature more exciting, despite the overall win being only 39x my bet. I lost just eight coins over my 200+ spins, but the irregularity of my sessions confirmed that you could steal some bounty but must be prepared to be gunned down mercilessly.

Why I Like It / Why It’s Different

The volatile gameplay matches the nature of the Wild West

The symbol collection mechanic of the safes adds much-needed action during losing runs

Respin resets during the Triple Cash Eruption Bonus build the tension as you get closer to winning a grand jackpot

Drawback: I found I hit my maximum loss of 25 coins in all three sessions where I didn’t activate one of the Triple Cash Eruption bonus rounds.

Similar Games to Cash Eruption The Western

If you’re looking for similar games to Cash Eruption The Western, I’d recommend Wild West Duels and Mega Bandit. Keep the volatility high during Wild West Duels, a game that I like because you can trade blows for the chance to reap the benefits of multipliers throughout features like the Beer Game and Lost Relic Free Spins. I like to play Mega Bandit when I’m in the mood for a less volatile Wild West-themed slot adventure, as multipliers light up both the base game and free spins bonuses.

Verdict & Final Thoughts

It’s neat that the volatility of Cash Eruption The Western matches the Wild West, but I wouldn’t recommend it as an ideal game for beginners or anyone who prefers low-risk gameplay. I do think that players who are happy to trade sessions where you can easily hit the max-loss limit for chances to enjoy quality features like the Triple Cash Eruption Bonus will enjoy the opportunity to grab some bounty and ride off into the sunset.
