A Raided Theme

What’s instantly noticeable about Cash Raid is the amount of space available on the screen when you’re playing it. While the games features are certainly visible and the background decorative, there’s still a great deal of blank space, which is helpful for that ever-important concentration.

There’s no doubt at all that Simbat have merely drawn on some of their older models in order to put this game’s theme together. There’s nothing about it that suggests any form of original design, but that’s hardly something that we can knock them for; after all the rate at which these put their games out does nothing but suggest that some structural sharing goes on at base production level.

Features, Functions and Triggers

Despite boasting what could accurately and objectively be described as a very basic layout, Cash Raid is nonetheless a game with a lot to give in terms of additional features, functions, triggers and all of the bonuses that come along with them! Dividing proceedings into two different games; a bottom (or basic) game and a top game, the developers appear to have done all they can to offer as much variation as they can from a game of such limited means.

The basic game is played over a single payline and takes in just 3 independent reels. Hold functions are automatically enabled and the always looming temptation of a gamble button is always present! Following each spin on the lower reel, the ‘Spin a Win’ wheel (to the far right of the screen) is activated and offers the chance for the player to trigger and additional winning combination – surely a compensatory measure, but there’s no way you’ll complain!

It’s when traversing the top level that things will become a little more interesting. Playing in the top game allows players to stake total bet of 5, 10, 20 or even 40 (!) credits across 5 separate lines, making for a very high payout potential. Furthermore, increasing your bet options will open a great deal more opportunity in the form of wilds and bonus game options.

Though appearing slender at first glance, this is definitely a game that packs a punch. All that is required in order to make Cash Raid really payout is full commitment on the part of the player. This game isn’t for the faint of heart (it is a raid – after all!), so players who really put forth the full might of their bank roll are the ones who are likely to walk away from this slot with the widest smiles.

In and Out

As with any form of raid, this game is best approached with a very strict ‘in and out’ policy. Though the gameplay is perfectly streamlined and the wider theme of the entire game pretty much timeless, the real truth here is that the Cash Raid slot offers nothing new.

While it’s true that throwback games, or those inspired by the slots culture of a foregone era, needn’t offer something new – it can sometimes just get boring when a game offers nothing fresh or additional from its predecessor aside from new graphics.

With Cash Raid there’s no doubt that the hearts of the Simbat Entertainment Systems team were all in the right place, it’s just that this game lacks the passion instilling qualities necessary to make it any more than a fleeting distraction. Still plenty of fun to be had though, not to mention some big wins.
