Double Ya Luck Slot Machine
Video slot developer Real Time Gaming (RTG) is at it again. Double Ya Luck is the company’s glittery progressive slot, an eye-catching 3-reeler in the mould of Old Vegas. Released in January 2015, Double Ya Luck is a feature-rich, high-variance casino game that offers the potential for truly life-changing wins.
Packed with a plethora of bonus features, Double Ya Luck fuses the energy of a slot machine with the familiar functionality and fun of a traditional board game. If you’re hell bent on landing the jackpot, read on for a full breakdown of the slot – then take your best shot at hitting the grand prize.
Look and Feel
Double Ya Luck is a very visual slot, meaning there’s plenty going on to draw the eye. The colourful 3x3 reel grid occupies the centre of the screen, against a backdrop of the casino floor – patterned royal blue carpet, large slot machines relaxing against the walls, a golden chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The title of the game appears in gold above the grid, flanked by plaques recording the Win and Jackpot amounts. Since this is a progressive, the jackpot figure is constantly changing.
Either side of the reel grid are squares on the board game, which might well come into play later. These green, blue and purple squares take you from ‘Start’ to ’10 Free at 10’ but only come into play in the bonus round. Below the board game, you’ll find that you can regulate your bet and lines quite easily. You can also activate autoplay and turbo play modes.
Betting Options
Double Ya Luck supports a range of bet values, with stakes beginning at just 0.10 per line. The top coin value, meanwhile, is a single credit, meaning you can wager three credits per spin of the reels if playing on all three lines. You can, if you prefer, play on just one or two lines.
Given that you’ll only be risking a maximum of three coins per spin, the line pay-outs are rather generous, with the maximum base game jackpot standing at a cool 1,000 credits.
Lady Luck
Most of the symbols populating the reels are derived from Vegas lore. Anyone who’s ever visited a Sin City casino – or any casino for that matter – will be nodding their heads in acknowledgement of familiar totems such as lucky sevens, horseshoes, dollar signs, bells, cherries, BARs, diamonds et al. Casino chips with Double, Ya and Luck printed upon them are special symbols, and so too are the red dice. Land any of the game word chip scatters on reels one, two or three and you’ll trigger a 50/50 ‘guess the suit’ gamble feature, in which as many as 40 free games can be awarded, along with an enticing x4 multiplier.
The chip with the word ‘Double’ upon it also acts as a wild, able to substitute for all other symbols except the lucky 7s, the red dice and the ‘Ya’ and ‘Luck’ chips. Moreover, the ‘Double’ wild pays two for one, 20 for two and 1,000 credits for three. It also doubles prizes when it stands in for other matching symbols.
The aforementioned board game bonus feature, meanwhile, is put into play when three red dice show up on the reels, from left to right. The gamer’s token is placed on the Start position while each of the dice reveals a number. The token then progresses along the board in accordance with the corresponding figure on the dice, and prizes include instant wins, free games, a random three of a kind on the first line or bonus restarts.
In terms of the base game, winnings stretch from 3, 6 and 10 to 40, 100, 200 and 1,000. Remember, though, all wins are doubled when the surrogate poker chip is involved.
Progressive Jackpot
The Double Ya Luck jackpot can be won when the player’s token hits the jackpot field during the board game feature, or when a trio of lucky 7s are located on an active line.
Trying Your Luck
Whether you double your luck or fritter away your stake, you’ll probably agree that Double Ya Luck is a fun ride while it lasts. Certainly it’s among the better three-reel slots out there, given that a progressive jackpot is on the line and also given the presence of both wild and scatter symbols. The board game bonus is another feather in its cap. Go on: try your luck.
