    Congo Bongo Slot Machine

It doesn’t take a genius to deduce what a game like Congo Bongo might be all about. There’s clearly going to be a jungle theme to this online slot, that much can be said for certain. Once the game starts to load, a few more things become evident as developers Asylum Labs dispense a few helpful playing tips.

It’s worth making a note of these for they will stand you in good stead once the game loads and the action commences. For example, it pays to keep an eye on Bartholomew. He’s the chameleon and the producer of the band and apparently “sometimes he gets wild”. Noted. Now for more on this slot game…

    Hekpful Tips

Other useful tips pertain to choosing your bonus game: to do so, match three symbols which are hidden in the musical notes. Finally, collect insect symbols in the Money-For-Nothin’ game because these will add wild chameleons and will grant you additional free spins. With that information fresh in mind, you’ll be primely positioned to profit from Congo Bongo by Asylum Labs.

They’re a helpful lot, this developer, for before the game has even loaded properly you’ll be shown an intro screen which further delineates the bonuses to be had. It’s already evident at this stage that the graphics are lush and the depth is particularly impressive.

    Rumble Jungle

There’s so much more to this game than staring at symbols on a board. Although mobile-compatible, it’s desktop players who get to enjoy the full effect of Asylum’s graphic design team. The board is framed in stone carvings that include a piano and then behind that a ruined temple is displayed with a treble clef note on its roof. As if that wasn’t enough, there are vine leaves and tree creepers wrapped around the logo and board. The best feature though is the creature that stands to the left of the board, possibly a chameleon, dressed in a shirt and tie. This animated little lizard infuses some real personality into this game.

    Making Music

One of the good things about this slot is that there’s no messing about with coin sizes, line bets and other pointless variables. You set your bet and that’s it. There’s an autoplay option incidentally, which allows you to go as high as 100 spins and also to set an autoplay session loss limit. You can set a win limit, too, before control is returned to you. The paytable in the game, while detailed, isn’t the easiest to make out on desktop. iPhone or Android users should fare better though. There are some interesting creatures to be found on the reels and some huge sums to be won should you be flush enough to play with a high bet level set. That level can go as low as 0.10 and as high as 500.

Creatures of the jungle to look out for include an elephant playing the drums, a gorilla resembling Elvis, a snake playing guitar, parrots and frogs. Wild is the chameleon sticking out its tongue and is worth 12,000 for five on a line with the maximum bet set. There’s also the bonus symbols which appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 to trigger the bonus game. There’s no shortage of bonus games built into Congo Bongo: in fact it comes with a trio of special features including All Ways Winner, Bonus VIP Pass and Lockin’ Rockin’ Respins, any of which can be randomly triggered in the base game.

    Crypologic’s Congo Bongo

Punters who are interested in playing other jungle-based slots should be careful not to confuse Asylum Labs’ Congo Bongo with a game of the same name by Cryptologic. The Cryptologic version isn’t nearly as nice, with shoddier graphics and a playing experience that isn’t a patch on the newer Congo Bongo. Of course, pokies that draw their inspiration from the jungle aren’t exactly hard to come by. Games like Crazy Jungle, a 20-payline effort, Happy Jungle, Deep Jungle and Heart of the Jungle all provide entertainment in spades and are populated with a cast of crazy characters that are hard to resist.

    Congo Bongo in Summary

Congo Bongo is a great game, one that’s full of colour, full of authentic sounds and full of creativity. Whether you choose to play for fun or to play for real money is your prerogative. Make sure you do give this game a spin if at all possible, for it’s one that’s hard to resist. It’s hard to pick a best feature: the animations, design, audio and bonus games are all top-notch. While the concept of placing musical anthropomorphic animals in a jungle is one that isn’t anything new, it’s done so well here that you’re not exactly going to take exception to the fact that this slot isn’t 100% original from start to finish. There’s more than enough built into this action-packed game to keep players happily spinning its reels for hours.
