Enigma Slot

Slots with a mystical theme have been popular for many years. While I’d put Enigma from Viaden Gaming into this category, it does have some confusing messages. The Indian (or is it Asian) treasure and 1940’s explorer type just does not quite gel with the ethnic music and cobra staring at you from the top of the reels for me. Otherwise this is a very well put together game which is compatible with both mobile devices and with computers. There is a free spins feature, and some of the wins from regular play can be large too. This slot is based on the standard Viaden setup of 5 reels, 3 rows of symbols and 9 winning lines.

Graphics are more detailed than on many Viaden games. The frame of this slot is lavish, with 2 beautiful ladies either side of the reels, a huge pile of treasure underneath and that steely-eyed cobra staring at you from the top of the reels. The background of the reels themselves is a decorative grid pattern. Symbols are mixed with a gun and sword sharing one symbol, a jeep, the explorer type guy and playing cards sharing a slot with temples and wild animals including an impressive looking tiger. There are simple animations which trigger when you win, for example the gun / sword combination rotating.

The background music is different to anything I have come across on a slot. This is spiritual, with drum beats and a drawn out wailing (that managed to sound soothing). There are some deep bass notes involved too. When you hit a winning combination you get a very short sitar riff along with a message which pops up to show your prize.

Only a single free spins feature will interrupt your spins for this game – you can retrigger this.

Setup and Play for Enigma

9 lines is the default, though you can choose any number up to 9. The smallest coin amount is 10c, with 50c the largest, this means you can spin from 90c to $4.50c a time assuming the full number of lines. You can gamble after a win with the standard playing card flip game, and you can also select auto-play.

Like all Viaden slots, you’ll have a wide selection of options in the settings. You can choose whether to have the music, and how loud this or the slot sounds are. You can also disable the alerts which show your wins. Fast play is another option, this dispenses with spinning the reels altogether, and simply gives you a new set of symbols each time.

Wild tiger symbols have the biggest prize associated with them. You can win 10,000 coins for 5 of these on a win line, and 2000 coins for 4. Tigers also substitute for all of the regular symbols (only the Cobra is excluded).

The next biggest win comes from hitting 5 explorers, this is worth 3000 coins. The gun / sword combination is worth 500 – as are the jeep and temple symbols. Playing cards, which are all decorated with a gold band, make up the smaller wins.

Cobra symbols have two roles. First this symbol will trigger the free spins bonus game; you’ll get 20 spins for 5, 15 for 4 and 8 spins for 3. Second, you will get a scatter pay-out from just 2 of these anywhere on the reels. 2 gets you 2x your total spin amount, 3 gets you 5x, 4 is for 20x and the top prize of 400x your total spin amount is triggered with 5 cobras anywhere on the reels.

Enigma Slot Bonus Game

There is really nothing interesting going on for the free spins game compared to the standard play. You will see a countdown of your remaining spins on the top of the reels, and can get more spins by hitting more cobras during this feature. Other than that it is just a rapid succession of spins that you do not have to pay for. Of course, watching all those wins come in is entertaining in its own right.

Enigma Slot – Conclusion

Despite the theme to this game being a little bit of an enigma of its own, this is a nicely produced game and very enjoyable to play. The music is strangely rhythmic and may well have to tapping your toes along with the beats. There is not too much of interest going on in the game – this type of slot is more geared towards those looking for a relaxing session rather than an intensive one. There is the potential for bigger wins, and the free spins game can trigger at any time.
