The display of this slot game is different to other casino games sharing its format. The 5 reels take up only a small section of the screen, on the left hand side of the page. In fact, they’re displayed vertically rather than horizontally. This may confuse players as first, as it did us, but you’ll soon get the hang of it.
Again, due to this change of display, players need to realise that the paylines are the same 25 lines that Eyecon uses in its other games, but look different on the screen. Therefore remember that and look out for the winning lines via a different way, more up and down rather than left to right. This may take a while to get players’ heads around.
However, the fact the reels don’t take up the whole screen is a refreshing contrast. Suddenly, players can see what else is going on in the game and they can do so easily as two cats are cutely perched either side of a restaurant counter.
The restaurant is called Sushi Cat and the important in-play information, such as how many credits the player has, how much they’ve staked and how much they’ve won, appears like a menu would in a takeaway restaurant. It’s certainly a refreshing difference to the normal display on slot games, but may take players a bit longer to fully get their heads around.
The paytable features a selection of cute animals or tasty sushi. In ascending order in terms of value, these are: sushi sauces, sushi on a plate and in a bowl, a sushi roll, a green fish, a blue fish, an orange crab, a red octopus and a blue fish lying on a chopping board next to a knife. Five of the last symbol in one line pays out 250,000 coins – which goes to show much players can win when enjoying this game.
All icons have their value doubled when the Sushi Cat logo substitutes into a winning combination. The icon can replace any of the above mentioned items, apart from the Sushi Cat, Sushi Girl and Sushi Train symbols – which we’ll discuss now.
The Sushi Cat icon, which is a kitten in a karate position – which is quite a site in itself – triggers free games it at least three appear in the reels at any time. There are two scatter icons, the Sushi Cat and the Sushi Train, which trigger the karaoke and train features if at least three appear in the reels at the same time.
Both are a great way for players to have their winnings multiplied. For example, the karaoke feature challenges players to pick any song from a list given to them. Depending on what they pick, the players could have their winnings multiplied by 10.
Thus showing that the Sushi Cat slot game has more to it than just a different display format, it has bonuses that leave a good taste and in-play which is as cute as a kitten. If that doesn’t prompt you to play it, nothing will.
