La Zingara Luna Nera Slots

La Zingara Luna Nera is a zinger of a name for a zinger of a game. It’s a real mouthful to say, but thankfully proves far easier to play.

If you’re wondering what the hell La Zingara Luna Nera is, incidentally, you’re not alone. According to the inexhaustible fountain of knowledge that is the internet, the title refers to some sort of Italian clairvoyant, possibly fictional, who, like all clairvoyants, possesses the power to see into the future.

If clairvoyancy were a scientifically confirmed thing, you’d think all its practitioners would be using their skill set to play video slots and scoop jackpot upon jackpot. But hey, perhaps it doesn’t work that way.

The only person who can say for sure is La Zingara Luna Nera, and she ain’t willing to reveal her secrets. Cross her palm with silver though and she’ll tease you with the promise of riches beyond your wildest dreams.

Fortunes can be won and lost on the slots and the only way to find out if luck’s on your side is to press start and watch the reels come in. Are you ready to dance with the mysterious La Zingara Luna Nera?

Fortune in the Palm of Your Hand

La Zingara Luna Nera is a Portomaso Gaming design, but you’d probably figured that already. The slots specialists are prized for their offbeat themes that delve into territory other developers scarcely visit.

The setting this time is a gypsy caravan where shadows flicker and spirits are summoned to divine the future and generally run amok.

The first thing that’ll strike you as you cast your eyes over the game is that it’s very purple. This thing’s so purple it resembles the cherished purple sweet you get in a box of Quality Street. In fairness, purple is the colour beloved by mystics, clairvoyants and their ilk or so we’re led to believe. In the background, a clock can be faintly made out, while tarot and lunar symbols abound.

The basic symbols start with the bog standard 10, J, Q, K and A, rendered in an ornate script font in shades of gold and purple. Yep, Portomaso Gaming have actually overlaid purple upon purple. It’s a crime akin to wearing double denim, not least because it hampers visibility. This may seem like a small slight, but it can be frustrating when you’re spinning the reels and trying to discern your winning combos at a glance.

Thankfully, the game’s more valuable symbols are far easier to make out. These include a classic gypsy caravan with a small ladder leading up to its red curtained entrance and a chimney poking out its sloping rope.

There’s also an astrological wheel, rendered in a shade that’s very close to purple, and a crystal ball which serves as the bonus symbol. The other symbol you’ll be seeing a lot of is a pentacle, described as a talisman or magical object, typically disc-shaped and inscribed with a pentagram and used as a symbol of the element of earth. The more you know, huh?

The game’s 5 reels offer up 25 paylines, forming the battleground where your coins will be won, lost and then won again.

Fortune Favours the Brave

If you’re bold enough to try your luck at La Zingara Luna Nera, you’ll be plunged into a world of rich colours, haunting sound effects and ominous looking symbols that, like the tarot, can spell doom or salvation.

Players can stake anywhere from 1 to 10 coins per line, with a minimum coin size of 0.01 and a max of 0.2. Hit start and the game lurches to life, its reels recalcitrantly shuddering to a halt with a murmur of dissent.

For a simple video slot, it’s pretty spooky...or at least it is if you believe in malevolent spirits and the ability to divine hitherto unrealised events.

There’s not an autoplay feature, it should be noted, but in practice it’s hardly a deal breaker. Aside from the game’s regular symbols, La Zingara Luna Nera comes bearing the usual trifecta of special symbols: bonus, scatter and wild. The former, which comes in the form of a crystal ball, is self explanatory, sending you through to the bonus feature when you land 3, 4 or 5 in view on the dashboard.

Then there’s wild, which comprises a mysterious looking box with an all-seeing eye displayed on one side and a hand on another. Wild will serve as a substitute for any of the regular playing symbols, as you would expect. Finally, scatter will grant you free spins, with 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols dictating the number of spins you’re awarded.

For its mystical theme and colourful palette alone, La Zingara Luna Nera warrants some serious playtime. Give it a spin and see how you fare.
