It’s somehow fitting that a game based on beautiful artwork should have graphics which are just as breathtaking. Developer Oryx has done a magnificent job with this game, creating a fantasy world which is rich, vibrant and full of detail.

The transparent reels are set in the middle of a town, but this is no ordinary location as the Eiffel Tower rises up in the background. There are lush green trees which line the pavement and in the foreground, a light is visible in one of the upstairs rooms in a house.

But it’s on the reels that the action takes place with the crooks out in full force and determined to avoid the police. But they’ll have to take care because there’s plenty of the boys in blue around and they’re focussed on tracking the thieves down! Look out for symbols representing the stolen paintings, the art dealer and the museum as well as the police and the bandits!

There’s no background music on Art Bandits but when you spin the reels you’ll hear a peal of music – listen out for the sirens blaring too! And when you hit a win, not only will you hear the sound of cash but you’ll be treated to a little animation showing the paintings being stolen…

You can use the “info” button on the bottom left of the reels to navigate to the paytable from the main screen.

All of the symbols are worth different sums and these are listed in the paytable. Most symbols require at least three matches for a payout but the top prize - the three separate bandits – pays out on a match of just two.

The bandits double up as wild symbols which means that they can substitute for any of the other symbols on the board, increasing your chances of getting a winning line. The business card is the scatter symbol, paying out a multiplier on the bet.

If you spin at least three of the museum symbol you’ll automatically unlock the bonus game. Here you’ll join forces with the thieves to target another painting. First you’ll need to disarm the guard though and it’s up to you to choose the method to do so! Once you’ve gotten past him, the final job is to pick the painting that you want to take but choose carefully! The piece of artwork you select will reveal your bonus prize.

Once you’ve finished the job, the bonus isn’t quite over yet as you’ll have free spins too plus a starter multiplier of x1. During the free spins every time you land another museum symbol, the count will be paused and you’ll have the chance to take that turn again. Each time you rack up a winning combination using a stolen painting symbol, you’ll add another multiplier to the pile. Once your free spins are over, the winnings from the bonus and the multipliers will be calculated to get your total prize.

Back at the main screen, before you start to play on the reels the final task you have is to set up your bet.

You can do this by using the buttons at the base of the screen.

The 5 reels include 15 available paylines but it’s up to you how many you want to include in play. You can set the number of coins bet per active line too, choosing from the minimum of 1 and up to the maximum of 10. The value of each coin can be set anywhere between 0.01 and 0.50.
