Money Rain Slot

Prince sang about Purple Rain, the Weather Girls declared that It’s Raining Men, and according to Brook Benton it’s a Rainy Night in Georgia. But the only rain we’re interested in is the Money Rain that pours out of the reels of an amazing slot from Incredible Technologies.

The Money Rain video slot features US banknotes in various denominations in a 5x3 grid, and you collect cash whenever five or more of the same note are in view after a spin. We say ‘spin’, but the symbols actually flip in position with each game, and there are no reels or paylines to think about. Effectively, all banknotes are scatter symbols.

You’ll also see a free spins symbol that triggers up to 50 bonus games. A sixth reel to the right side of the main grid actually spins at times, potentially creating high-value combinations. If you think you’ve seen every slot variant going, then look again. Money Rain is a fascinating game from a developer that likes to do things a little differently.

Based in Vernon Hills, near Chicago, Incredible Technologies is a casino games developer that has been operating since 1985. Around 150 talented staff now work on slots, keno games and poker titles for land-based and online casinos. Slot machines such as Astro Cat and Leonidas: King of the Spartans are in their range, and each has dazzling features that give spinners unique ways to collect prizes. Money Roll is another slot from the company that uses the same Connecting Scatter Way format that’s seen on Money Rain, so they clearly know that this system works well and is a hit with slot players. Read on to discover how it works, then play free Money Rain video slots or make real cash wagers to see coins raining down on you.

Buckets of Banknotes

It’s easy to see what each symbol is worth as the denominations are printed right there on each banknote, along with the image of a president. George Washington is worth one credit, Abraham Lincoln is valued at five, and others are worth 10, 20, 50 and 100 credits. The top awards are paid by Roosevelt, who is valued at 500 credits. Any time five or more of the same president are in view in any places, you win a prize.

For example, five Washington notes will pay five credits, while 13 will pay 13 credits. Five Roosevelts at 500 credits each will pay 2,500, with nine examples of this symbol being worth a win of 4,500. But above these levels, you collect ‘Epic Wins’, claiming 7,000 and 7,500 credits when 14 or all 15 spots on the reels are filled with any single type of symbol.

You can’t miss the reel to the right of the grid of Money Rain, as this can add extra banknotes to the main game. A green dollar symbol turning up in any five or more places will send this reel spinning. It’s got the same banknote symbols on it, and whichever is landed in the center spot of the reel will be transferred to all of the dollar-sign positions that triggered the spin. It can give you enough of a symbol type to create a win or boost the value of a payout if you already had at least five of a kind in view.

Take Note of Free Spins

The free spins symbol in Money Rain isn’t worth anything on its own. But if you land three or more in any places, you’ll be awarded bonus games. Just three of this symbol will be worth eight extra spins, with four examples awarding 12 games. 20 free spins are yours when it’s landed in five spots at once, while the best outcome is for 50 bonus spins when it’s seen in any six or more places.

During these spins, a blue dollar sign appears. This will trigger a spin of the sixth reel in the same way as the base games, but only the four most valuable symbols will be on it. The lowest-paying symbol of Washington won’t appear at all during these spins, so the chances are that you’ll win higher prizes throughout the feature.

No matter how many free spins you win, there’s an initial prize of 45 credits to get you started. The games can be retriggered by three or more free spin symbols appearing at once, but the number of extra games depends on the stake. Either four, six, or eight more spins will play out, depending on how much the triggering bet was for.

Banking on Money Rain

The game is played with 30 credits, and all you need to do is decide the value of each and a bet level from one to six. Credits can be set from just 0.01 for a 0.30 stake per spin, to a high limit of 0.50, which combined with the maximum bet level of six equals a 90.00 wager.

There’s an Autoplay button that can be used to get the reels spinning for up to 500 times, as well as a Turbo mode which simply speeds things up to hopefully bring in the winnings at a faster rate. If you don’t mind listening to an annoying jingle as the game is in progress, activate the soundtrack. It’s probably not a good idea to play the tune of this mobile-optimized slot when you’re in public, though, as anyone around you is going to get ticked off. It might be a good idea to plug your headphones in.

More Cash-Based Slots

Because the gameplay is so unusual, being only shared with others in the same range, there’s not much to compare Money Rain to. But the cash theme is unsurprisingly quite a popular one. Bank Walt from Magnet Gaming is typical of the off-the-wall online slots from this Danish developer. Excellent 3D graphics in this five-reel, 20-line slot are overseen by Walt, a banker from the 1920s who stands to one side of the game. Symbols of cash, gold and dollar signs will appear, along with features such as reel respins after every win and a bank vault feature that can lead to progressive jackpot prizes.

Right on the Money

Incredible Technologies should be commended for coming up with such an innovative game. The Connecting Scatter Way system works really well and should give you plenty of winning spins, if ‘spin’ is the right word.

The bonus features are just as engaging, especially the sixth reel that can add extra banknotes to the main game and extra cash to your casino account balance. You can find Money Rain at reliable and trusted online casinos in many countries. It’s been licensed in a number of US jurisdictions and comes with a fair return-to-player percentage of over 94%.

If there’s anything we didn’t like about this slot, it’s the very minor details, such as the sound effects and the somewhat plain image of a grassy field that makes up the backdrop to the main game. But these are hardly deal-breakers, and overall we’re ready to give it a few more spins.
