Lines and Stakes

Gods of the Nile features configurable paylines, meaning the player is free to choose whether he wishes to play on just a single line, two, three or all nine. Of course, the more lines you play, the higher your wins – when they come – will be.

As for the coin denominations, the smallest coin is 0.25 while the highest is 10. With all nine lines in play then, you can potentially wager 90 credits per spin of the reels. How deep are your pockets?

Deep in the Tomb

Gods of the Nile is a fairly attractive slot from an aesthetic point of view. The title of the game appears above the reals, in a sloping font and written on a kind of papyrus-coloured tablet. The 5x3 grid itself is flanked by stone tablets upon which there are many sketches – Eyes of Horus, birds, blinged-up black Egyptian cats etc. The sketches are well done, and the tablets are designed to look as though they’ve been saved from antiquity.

Below the reels, you’ll find many familiar controls. There are five green, rectangular buttons, one regulating the auto play function (you can play up to 25 automatic spins), one letting you view the pay-table, one you press to play at max bet, one to determine your stake and one to configure your pay-lines. The Spin button is in the centre and is the only red button.

The reel grid itself looks somewhat unique in that every square on the board – all 15 of them – floats in its own right. The squares are bordered by gold or made to resemble pieces of stone. Symbols populating the reels include a golden pharaoh bust, an Ankh, the scarab, the Eye of Horus, a golden Nefertiti and also playing cards: Jack, Queen, King, Ace. The symbols are well drawn on the whole, particularly the ornate pharaoh’s bust and the Nefertiti head. The playing card symbols occupy circles inside their squares and each appears in a different colour.

As is normally the case, the playing cards are the low-money icons on the board. The Jack pays x1, x2 or x9 for three, four or five, respectively, while the Queen pays x2, x5 or x25. The Ace is best, paying x5, x15 or x100.

Nefertiti is unassociated with pay values – this one’s wild, able to substitute for all other symbols to help you make wins. The Ankh pays x10 for three, x25 for four and x500 for five, while the colourful scarab pays x25, x50 and x1,000. Yes, the pay-outs are rather generous in this slot. The black Egyptian cat is the most lucrative in the whole game: it pays x100 for just three, x1,000 for four and x25,000 for five in a line.

Picking a Moneyed Mummy

Three or more of the golden pharaoh’s bust icons trigger the game’s lone special feature. In the mini game, you’ll be shown four pharaoh statues in a tomb, lined up in a row. A white hand hovers at the end and you have to direct it to the statue you feel contains the highest multiplier. You’ll get up to five picks and multipliers range from x5 and x10 to x25, x100 and x250. It’s a simple enough game, and it sticks to the theme, so we can’t really complain. Try your best to pick a mummy that leads to money!

Gods of the Nile

This Ancient Egypt themed slot is much like the rest of them – the symbols are virtually identical to those contained in literally hundreds of slots – but with a wild and a bonus feature in the mix, you can still extract some enjoyment from this 5-reeler. Its pay-table is also higher than many of its competitors’.
