When you think of high fantasy, what do you picture? Elves, dwarves, orcs, dragons, and a land that vaguely looks like medieval Europe maybe? JRR Tolkien practically invented the genre of high fantasy, taking all of the various tropes and combining them into one iconic genre that still persists in pop culture today. Lord of the Rings has influenced nearly every major fantasy franchise since then – if you’ve ever played D&D you no doubt know this already. Legend of Terra shamelessly utilises these influences to create a high fantasy slots game that looks like it takes place right in the heart of Middle Earth.

Visually Legend of Terra is hands down one of the best-looking video slots games we have ever seen. The entire game looks lush, well-lit, and highly detailed. The characters and visual scenery clearly draw from Tolkien influences, sometimes veering dangerously close to copyright infringement-levels of similarity.

All of the staples of the genre can be seen here, including trolls, dragons, elves, dwarves, and a single ring that looks suspiciously like a certain ring Gollum would like. But anyways, the game’s animations looks equally great, and when the reels are spinning various humorous animations play, like a dragon spewing fire at the bloated fat troll on the right side of the screen.

The interface is located on the bottom of the screen, and it was not spared a piece of the VFX budget – it too looks as though it meshes perfectly with the background and foreground in place.

Technically speaking this game also proves to a strong performer. Legend of Terra utilises a standard 5x3 reel system, along with 20 paylines. Coin denominations range from 0.1 to 10 coins a spin, with one coin per payline allowed. The bottom-left button lets you change the coin denomination, and the adjacent buttons allow you to change the number of paylines currently active.

The centre button lets you spin the reels, the center-right button lets you automatically max out the bet, and the right-most button lets you access the pay table, along with the help/info screens. There are wild and scatter symbols in play, so make use of them! Unfortunately the game doesn’t offer free spins, which may come as a but of a disappointment to some players.

Legend of Terra offers no progressive jackpot, but it offers just about everything else. For one, it offers a 10,000-coin jackpot. On top of that, there is a winnings multiplier in play (activated when the wild symbol completes a winning line), as well as the aforementioned wild and scatter symbols.
