Clearly, this game is centered around the classic characters who make up the story of King Arthur, including Merlin the magician and the lovely Guinevere. The background sounds are quite basic, fitting the overall simplicity of the game's design. Winning lines are signaled with the brief strumming of a harpsichord. The symbols in Arthur's Quest are drawn with a very simplistic cartoonish style. From lowest value to highest, they are as follows: the Holy Grail, a black horse, Merlin's wizard hat, a castle front, and a flag bearing a red dragon. Then you have the Weapon Set representing the three highest value symbols: a crossed pair of battle axes, a crossed set of lances and finally, the famous sword, Excalibur.

The sword Excalibur not only serves as the highest-valued symbol in Arthur's Quest, it also performs as a standard Wild and is labeled as such. Unlike most Amaya Gaming slots, this one lacks a Free Games or Free Spins feature and therefore has no Scatter symbol. In this game, a giant stone appears which is impaled with many Excalibur-styled swords. Click on the swords one-by-one to reveal bonus multipliers which are added together. If you see the word "Finish" instead of a multiplier when you pull out a sword, the bonus round ends. However, if you're lucky enough to choose "Finish" on your very first click, you will win the maximum prize in this bonus game.

Three or more Merlins on the reels will take you into his Pick a Spell bonus game. Once inside it, you'll see four spells to choose from. Click one, and the prize beneath it is yours.

The final bonus belongs to the fair Guinevere. See her face appear three or more times and you unlock her Enchanted Dragonfly bonus feature. There really isn't anything to do once it opens up-just watch the magic frog feast on the dragonflies hovering about. When the enchanted dragonfly is chosen, you'll see the total credits won in this mini-game.

I never really "got" Arthur's Quest. For some reason the game never really appealed to me in spite of multiple tries at it. However, given the fact that Amaya made a sequel, it seems the slot has a loyal following so you might just enjoy it too.
