Golden Fruits Slot Machine

Golden Fruits is a 5-reel video slot with 3 rows and 11 fixed paylines. The slot, which has an old-school fruit machine vibe, is available to play at a selection of online casinos and on an array of devices, from PCs and laptops to tablets and smartphones. The title is designed by high-end gaming firm KGR Entertainment, based in Germany.

Golden Fruits is exceedingly simple to play, following the standard format for games of this nature. All wins start on the leftmost reel and pay from left to right along the 11 win lines. Only the highest win paid per win combination and coinciding wins on different paylines are added together. The slot’s theoretical average payout rate is a healthy 96.2%.

Coin Values

As stated, the player is not permitted to tamper with the number of win lines: they are fixed at 11. The coin value, however, is negotiable. You can play with coins starting at 0.05 and rising to 0.10, 0.25, 0.50 and 1 credit. You can bet up to 25 coins, meaning the maximum bet-per-spin is a comparatively modest 25 credits.

Familiar Symbols

The layout of the slot is extremely simple. The title, Golden Fruits, appears in gold lettering above the reels, but other than that, there are no real graphics. The background to the grid is a kind of washed-out blend of colours, the colours being red, black and yellow. Below the reels, you’ll find all the general controls, with buttons or tabs for Autostart, Start, Total Bet, Bet, Lines, Coin Value and Balance. It’s fairly easy to keep track of how much you’re winning and losing as you play.

As for the symbols on the board, they include cherries, lemons, oranges, grapes, watermelon, blackberries, bells and 7s. The graphics are nothing to write home about, truth be told.

If playing at max bet – 25 credits per spin – the pay-outs are fairly generous. The lowest value symbols are the cherries, lemons, oranges and blackberries, all of which pay 50 for three, 125 for four and 500 credits for five. The grape and watermelon symbols are identical as well, granting 125 for three, 500 for four and 1,250 for five. At the summit of the scale is the golden bell and the golden 7.

This is where the money really rockets, as the bell pays out 200 for three, 625 for four and a handsome 1,875 for five in a line. The 7, meanwhile, pays 250 for three, 2,500 for four and… wait for it… 12,500 for five!

Of course, not many players will be staking 25 credits per line; that wager is pretty high. If you’re playing with 10 credits per line, the top pay-out is a still-respectable 5,000, for five 7s. The player will win 1,000 for four 7s or 100 for three 7s; he or she can also win 750 for five bells or 500 for five watermelon/grape icons.

Gamble Mode

The gamble mode can be activated after the player hits a win. In gamble mode, you’ll be shown a stack of cards and given an opportunity to double or quadruple your current win. In order to double the win, you’ll bet on the colour of the card to be drawn from the deck – red or black. If you want to quadruple your present bet, you can alternatively guess the suit – diamonds, hearts, clubs or spades. An incorrect guess results in you losing the round and also in losing the complete current win.

The current win is shown in the “WIN" field and the saved amount is shown in the "Saved Win” tab. Successful rounds are marked out with a green hook, underneath WIN. The gamble feature ends after five gamble rounds have been successfully completed, or if you guess incorrectly at any stage. Helpfully, the player is entitled to save half of the current win up to three times. The final seven random suits are shown in the field marked Last Cards.

All That Glitters

Golden Fruits is a decent slot game, but its lack of bonus features definitely impacts the level of enjoyment the player can expect to experience. Most video slots these days feature wild and scatter symbols, both of which enhance your chances of winning and add a little excitement to the game. Alas, there are no such symbols in Golden Fruits, which may entertain you for a short while but is unlikely to hold your interest for long.
