Most Octopus Gaming slots have one huge winning combination, in addition to many mid-sized and smaller ones. In Lucky Fishing this is the wide-eyed crab wild symbol. Land 5 of these on a line, and you’ll win 10,000 coins, 4 are worth 1000, 3 gets you 100 and even 2 have a token payment of 10 coins. Wild symbols also combine with any of the regular symbols below to complete wins – though they do not substitute for scatter symbols or bonus symbols.

Regular wins are headed up by the fisherman in purple, worth 500 coins. The one in red is worth 300 coins for 5 – all regular symbols also pay at 3+ on a line. The grinning fish is also worth 300 coins, and the yellow worried looking one 200 for 2. Next comes the rucksack with 200 coins – with the work and other gear making up the smaller wins.

There are two more symbols of note. First the yellow and red fish is a scatter; this pays a multiple of your total bet for 3+ anywhere on the reels. The top prize for this is 100x your bet for 5. The bonus symbol is a happy fisherman in a boat. This only appears on the middle 3 reels, if you get 3 then you go to the break out bonus game, where you can win up to 2805 coins.

The game is simple enough. You get to take the role of the happy fisherman, and decide where to cast off. He’ll throw out his line and pull up a fish – which will have a coin value on it. This repeats over and over, with more coins accumulating, until sooner or later you will land a ‘game over’ symbol instead. This does make an entertaining break from the main game – and of course is perfectly in line with the overall fishing theme.

This game feels a little dated, but is upbeat and cheerful enough that it is unlikely to offend anyone. At the same time with so many other fishing slots out there, I can't really see a reason to choose this ahead of the others.

However, for something a bit different, this game is worth a spin. It's unlikely to be on my top rated slots list, but it's one that might just reel you in. Enjoy.
