If you like challenges and enjoy a good game of poker, we believe you will enjoy Emperor’s Challenge Pai Gow Poker software by Galaxy Gaming. This online poker game takes bets between the range of 5 and 500 with side bets between 1 and 25. This offers the player a range of flexibility to get the payouts they would like to achieve.
The game is fun and requires that the player has minimum amount of experience and know-how in the poker table games world. The design is beautifully crafted and there was no background music playing, which was more than welcomed. We thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and we are excited to be sharing this review with you. The player can play for free or play for real money. Given how great the payouts are, we would suggest that you play for real money – but more about that later.

When the free Emperor’s Challenge Pai Gow Poker game starts, we are welcomed by the beautiful layout and graphical design of the game. To start the game the player must choose how much they would like to bet and can go straight into the game and play. The player is dealt 7 cards, as is the dealer. The player must choose two cards from the deck and these would be considered to be the top cards. The rest are the bottom cards.
The aim of the game is to get the best cards when comparing the player’s top cards with the dealer’s top cards and the player’s bottom cards with the dealer’s bottom cards. The player can win the top, bottom, both or none at all. The payouts are described in the pay table on the right-hand side of the screen.
If you have ever played poker before, you’ll definitely know the rules to this game. The different card combinations, starting from the set with the lowest payout, are as follows; high card, one pair, two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, and royal flush. If the player and the dealer have the same type of hands, the one with the highest value cards win.
This online game offers the player options to see the pay table and the instructions how to play. The problem we found with this was that the player had to keep holding onto the instructions or pay table buttons to access this information. As soon as they release the mouse button, the text box disappears. This was not convenient for the player.
Most players will be interested in this section; how much can I win? The maximum payout is 8000 and the player can win as little as 2. It really depends on how you win. We do wish that the pay table could be fixed onto the screen so that we don’t have to keep holding the mouse button. First world problems, I guess.
What we loved about this game was how aesthetically pleasing it was to the eye. This online poker game was not only fun to play but had a beautiful red Asian theme running through it. Most of us know that red is the colour of luck in many Asian countries, particularly China. On the top of the screen the player can see the chips. The player’s personal chips are on the left-hand side and the bottom panel has all the information needed such as pay table and instructions buttons, the amount of credit the player has left and the total bet.
This free Emperor’s Challenge Pai Gow poker game is not the first of the poker games by company Galaxy Gaming. Another poker game worth mentioning is Four Card Prime. This is played slightly different but we still felt there were several similarities. In this Four Card Prime, the player is only dealt with 4 cards to play, compared to Emperor’s Challenge’s 7 cards.
We found that Emperor’s Challenge was more aesthetically pleasing as Four Card Prime had a more traditional poker table feel and was not very creative with its design. There were more options in Four Card Prime, making it more suitable for more advanced players. The bets were the same, with 5-500 which could be bet with 1-25 being the side bets in both games.
We would definitely play this game again. In fact, we are quite hooked on this one. The payouts are amazing and you can also play for free. If you try the demo version right here in our free slot machines library, no download is needed. Winning up to 8000.00 would be a real treat. We highly recommend this aesthetically beautiful game and feel that any player can dive straight in and start playing, with or without experience.
