Odd Numbers Are Our Favourite

Often when we take a look at slot machine layouts, we don’t notice anything unusual, for there’s a conventional format that a lot of names adhere to, but here we did spot something out of the norm. There’s 18 winlines. This may sound trivial, but actually it’s quite a big deal. You see, usually you have either 10, 15, 20 and so on, often with the figure being a positive number. Then you have ways to play, which are winlines of a sort, but a great deal many more of them. This is neither.

We’re not sure why the decision was made, or what it actually does to the overall gameplay of the title, as we noticed no sudden changes, but it certainly makes for an interesting conversation. For a brand that seems to always go for 30 winlines or 10, this is a move by them that appears to go against the grain of their branding. Fortunately though, the 18 lines are still unfixed, meaning you can play about with the amount you have until you’re satisfied.

Revamped Classic

Most of you veteran slot machine gamers will have come across the classic imagery of various fruits and red 7s - they’re the stuff of retro dreams, arguably what makes old school titles so different. Here, in Super 7s, Nucleus Gaming have tried to capture that niche part of the industry, but by revamping it into a more inviting aesthetic. There’s still signs of classic slots to be found here, like the bell and cherries symbols, but then you have the inclusion of card suits and gemstones. It’s a mismatch of tiles, but it actually works, forming a modern day classic that’ll (hopefully) be remembered for years to come.

As this is steeped so much in classical dynamics, the payouts reflect that, which means that they feel more substantial than what you might have been used to; a red 7 can give 1,000 credits, on the lowest stake. A figure that then jumps to 5,000 for every five icons, when you put your money where your mouth is and bet the full betting amount; that’s a good chunk of cash. The mimimum bet, by the way, is 0.36, while the maximum is 90.00.

Understanding the Colour Wheel

We’re not talking about art, don’t worry, but about the colour wheel you can unlock when you play this slot. Super 7s wheel of fortune can only land on a select number of reels, the second, third and fourth, but in doing so it can reward you a selection of extra games. Free spins may not be the big number of a prize you was hoping, but free gaming should never be overlooked.

Gamers can earn themselves between 7 and 12 rounds, which are decided the moment you make that winning combination; so far so basic. However, we start to enter new territory when you realise that a bonus suit is available for you to win, which would increase your payout substantially. At the end of the round, the number of suits you’ve found will be taken into account and a payment to you will be made, though there’s no promise of even finding a single one.

If It Looks and Quacks Like a Duck

Being awarded extra games is a regular feature for most slot machines, so finding another game that delivers the same or similar experience won’t be hard - take Wild Cobra, for example. This Merkur game delivers a touch of retro gaming, but in a different format, as well as 40 winlines that open up the availability of activating those special rounds. And if that shouldn’t do it for you, there’s always Who Wants to be a Millionaire, by Gamesys; it’s not Super 7s, but it has generic features that’ll put you right at ease.

When the Fun Stops

Eventually you’ll get off of the Super 7s ride, which probably won’t take you too long seeing as this is a compact real cash slot. What this means, above all else, is that the shelf life of this slot is more vague, for it can be either short lived or long lived, depending on your enjoyment of repetition. If you savour playing the same features over and over, then you’ll have found a perfect match, but if you need high variance, you’re going to have to go somewhere else.

Overall, we can’t fault this slot. It has all the basic markers of an average online game, and it’s available to play on the move, putting it one up on those games that can’t. Nevertheless, it’s not one of Nucleus Gaming’s best, and so we’d suggest searching out their other titles before you decide whether you like the brand or not.
