All Along the Ocean Floor

We don’t know what it is, but it appears for every great game that Drive Media designs, three of four duds seem to come along with it. Sadly, judging by the design of it, Ocean is more of the latter than the former. Things start badly with the backdrop, as it is pretty boring, with matters certainly not improving on the reels. In fact, it could even be argued the game steadily gets worse the more you venture into it.

The symbols used in Ocean, while comical, really are lacking in presence. They don’t jump off the screen, nor do they really add anything unique to the game.

Capping off what is a pretty lacklustre UI is some haunting underwater music that players in the background. Considering that this game is supposed to be jolly and upbeat, the music Drive Media chose to make use of is actually a pretty poor fit.

Drenched in Jackpots

Things don’t improve all that much when you delve into the gameplay of Ocean, as it’s just as bland as many other Drive Media titles. It really is a case of more of the same through 5 reels and 9 paylines.

While the bet levels are as evenly spread as always, with a minimum bet of 9.00 and a maximum bet of 450.00, you like to think that Drive Media could have done a lot more with this low to medium variance release.

Not Worth the Effort

Are you a fan of big time bonus features? Did you load up Ocean expecting to experience some scintillating extras? Well, if that’s the case, get ready to feel let down, as Ocean offers nothing of the sort. Bonus games are a non-factor in this game, as all players have to work with are wilds and scatters.

Admittedly, the wilds and scatters within Ocean can help you secure some additional payouts, but deep down you would have expected Drive Media to include a little more. What an additional bonus round tends to do is improve the replay value of a title, so it’s something that is sorely lacking within Ocean, as Drive Media has really missed the mark here.

Drab, Dull, and Overused

Rounding off what is a generally poor online slots release is the drab control panel, which seems to be a feature of many Drive Media releases. This huge, obtrusive silver bar is planted at the bottom of the screen, with it really weighing down Ocean. It also doesn’t help that the controls aren’t the easiest to use, which makes getting from A to B in this game quite the challenge.

Ocean is an Online Slots Game that Sinks to New Lows!

The sea is fairly common real money slots theme, as developers around the world have tackled it a thousand times over. The problem is that most of these games lack real quality, with Ocean being yet another major example. This game should have been something special, but it has ended up going in the opposite direction.

Ocean is on the wrong side of average as far as game quality is concerned, so overall we would say that Ocean by Drive Media is a release to avoid.
