Seeing as we were just talking about the graphics, how about we take a closer look at them? They’re most unusual when compared with other contemporary slots, mainly because of the choice of aesthetic. Age of Knights, much like the fairy tale theme, takes on a traditional design, with the illustrations similar to that seen in the Peanuts comics. There’s a more homemade feel here rather than one of polished professionalism, though in truth, it works better because of the “ye olde world” vibe going on inside the matrix.
The background may be separate to the 3x5 grid, but they still manage to work together harmoniously, creating a sense of seamless transition; the grid doesn’t feel like an eyesore. These subtle details all come together in creating a fun and cheerful interface with which to engage. Yes, it’s not as fancy as some of the other fairy tale slots out there, but Age of Knights doesn’t need to be.
