Theme

The backdrop of Dice O’clock is stunningly well produced, the graphics are seriously sharp and vibrant, with video game quality, this might seem strange since this isn’t an animated video slot, but it really adds a quality vibe to the game which producers of table games would do well to note.

What we have here is a collaboration of themes rather than one standout style, the red brick background and burnished colour scheme are almost Victorian industrial in tone whist the chains, cogs, and riveted metal pieces give an almost Steampunk air to the game, it doesn’t go all out in the way Steam Tower does, but still, it is there.

Symbols are pretty straightforward, and in a game with slightly more complex gameplay, this is likely a good thing, you have playing dice in values of 1-6 for the lower paying icons and four Chinese character marked die for the three high pay symbols and bonus scatter trigger. These are all in individual colours to help you out with recognition and the pay table is permanently showing on the game screen, as are the win lines which are etched on the four game panels.

Gameplay & Features

Where a speciality game like Dice O’clock comes into its own, is in the gameplay, on the surface it may seem like another click and go game, but be warned, if you want to combine the big wins, this is a game you actually need to pay attention to your picks!

Start by setting your overall stake for each game, no complicated coin value system, just a straight up bet between 0.25 and 20.00 credits, this dictates the max win on the game as it is always 100x your total stake, with bigger risks come bigger rewards as they say!

Once you have your stake selected hit start, a random combination of three dice will now appear in the top centre of the game screen, you now click one of the four panels to play them in the first (left) position on the panel, the object of the game is to line symbols up three at a time for the relevant credit win, or in the case of three bonus symbols, trigger the bonus round.

It is here you see the skill side to the game, imagine halfway through your placements you have a choice to make, needing to add a losing dice set to one panel, only for the next one to reveal itself as the dice which would have completed that very panel! The anticipation and concentration really get you involved in this game in a way many click and play online gambling games simply can’t match.

I’ve seen many players just auto click their way through randomly, selecting manually is definitely the best strategy on the game and don’t forget that until you place picks on all four panels, the game round isn’t over, even if you already have winning lines, so fill them up!

You need a minimum of 100 points in combination across the panels to collect a win, three winning panels also grant you an extra 1.5 win multiplier and filling all four grants you double points, if you hit 9x symbols alike for a full panel, an extra 200 point bonus will be yours!

Summary

Given that Dice O’clock plays so differently to the many other online casino games, I would definitely recommend giving it a bash in demo mode or free to play for a while till you get the hang of it, the moment you get that ‘a-ha’ moment, you can switch over to cash play!

Overall, this is absolutely worth a play, it offers a unique and engaging online gambling experience unlike that offered by slots and table games and is far more interesting than traditional games like Keno or scratch cards.
