    Goblin’s Gold Slots

Lucky players could be goblin up some big wins when the right symbols fall in to place across the Goblin’s Gold video slot machine from Casino Technology. It’s a classic 5-reel slot game, where symbols are arranged in 3 rows, and running from the left side, we have 20 paylines, across which players will want to see 3 or more of the same symbol, in an unbroken sequence to get a win.

Although it’s not immediately obvious, there’s a bit of an Irish theme to the game, which is actually a nice change from the many slots that are filled to overflowing with leprechauns, rainbows and green hills. We do have the usual pots of gold, lucky clover and coin symbols however, all appearing on reels that are set against a woodland scene.

The standard of symbol design is quite high, with a fairly realistic appearance to them all, while a couple of bonus features, such as free spins with multipliers, a gamble game and a wild symbol should ensure that spinners won’t need the luck of the Irish to take home some prizes.

If you go Down to the Woods Today

While free Goblin’s Gold video slots can be played, you only need a minimum of 0.01 to get started, although this only activates a single payline, so getting all lines in play requires a low limit stake of 0.20. Slots games that have software by Casino Technology all come with a high return to player percentage, so no matter what stakes you are playing with, on average, most of the cash is returned as winnings, and there’s real chances to land some big prizes along the way.

If you take time to review the paytable, you will see how many times the line bet equivalent is won when matching symbols land across the reels, with the Q, J, K and A each being valued at 10x, 25x, or 75x when they stop on 3, 4, or 5 reels on an active payline.

The unique picture symbols are mostly connected to good fortune, with an Irish twist, and include a horseshoe, golden bell, four-leaf clover, and the top prizes in normal gameplay are claimed when the pot of gold appears, with up to 1,000x won.

    Wild Goblin Feature

The main bonus symbol and the star of the show, is of course, the Goblin. This scary-looking chap is gloating over a pile of gold coins and while he only appears on the middle 3 reels, he’s a wild symbol that will be able to act as all others, with the exception of a scatter symbol, to complete win-lines.

There’s not much else that he does however, as there’s no value attached to this symbol on its own, and unlike some slot machines, you won’t benefit from a wild multiplier bonus payout when it becomes part of a winning combination.

    Scatter Awards and Free Spins

The big gold coin, with a shamrock embossed on it, is a scatter symbol, which pays up to 1,000x the line stake without having to be across a line to do so. It will also award 15 free spins and any winnings during the bonus round will be doubled in value.

If 3, 4, or 5 scatter coins appear in a single free spin, another 15 extra games are added on to the end of the current round.

    Double-Up Gamble Feature

Any win of less than 10x the triggering bet can be doubled or even quadrupled in an optional gamble feature that takes place on a second screen, where spinners will see a face down playing card. If they correctly guess the colour, the initial win is doubled, or if they want to take a bigger risk for a potentially bigger reward, they can try and guess the suit, quadrupling the prize if correct.

There’s the option to gamble just half the win, which means that not all is lost if it goes wrong, while the high limit for this round is set at 50x the initial bet, but like all gamble features, it’s perhaps pushing your luck to try and get it right several times over, so many punters just take a 50/50 risk and cash out there if they were correct in their pick.

    The Verdict on Goblin’s Gold

This mobile-optimised online slot game is slightly unusual-looking, with an interesting, almost 3D effect to some of the symbols, and an Irish theme that does away with the many of the typical images. That isn’t meant as a criticism, it’s just not what you would expect from a slot machine that’s supposed to be about a goblin.

He turns up as the wild symbol of course, staring at his treasure, but there’s little other connection to the title. However, this can be a satisfying game to play, where the potential to grab some treasures of your own can be found, both in the base game and during the free spins round.

If you like the way it looks, then there should certainly be few issues with the way that the Goblin’s Gold video slot plays out, and you can find it at online sites which feature Casino Technology games range.
