Power Mania

Power Mania Bonus is the full name of this game, although Power Mania will do. The name is epic, the game not so much, but it’s still playable. Up to a point. Okay, so it’s not the greatest or most exciting game you’ll ever play, but then this is bingo. What do you expect? For the purposes of playing a little bingo on the go, and possibly winning a little money, Power Mania by Zitro Interactive will do. It’s basically a regular bingo game that’s been jazzed up by the addition of a few little tweaks here and there.

Zitro Interactive aren’t a particularly well known casino developer, but they’ve put out a few instant win games and specialty games including a number of bingo titles. Of these games, some have been rank rotten while others have been playable. Power Mania is actually one of the better ones. It’s a game that doesn’t get too adventurous, but it does have a few nice little touches here and there. It also has some downsides, like colours that clash and animations that are way too fast. It would be fair to say that Power Mania won’t be winning any awards for design.

Power Up

Although designed for mobile, Power Mania will work on desktop though it will complain about it if you’re not using the Safari browser. Apparently that’s the browser it has been optimised for and no other browser will do. Actually, that’s a slight exaggeration; this game will also work in Firefox, but you won’t get far in Chrome, despite Power Mania supposedly having been built in HTML5. On mobile things are better for this is a fully mobile-compatible game which works well, or at least as well as can be expected. The graphics, animations and audio won’t bowl you over any more than they will on desktop.

When the game first loads you’ll be asked where you want the sound effects on or off. There’s not a lot to them, so even if you do keep them on you’re unlikely to notice them aside from the odd bleep or click. As for the game itself, once it’s loaded you’ll find that you’re staring at a standard issue bingo screen, one with four cards neatly positioned on it. Each card contains a grid measuring 5x3 squares, making this a 90-ball bingo version. You can make out the paytable across the top of the screen, which simply comprises all the different ways you can rack up one and two-line combos in the game.

Dollar Bill Y’All

The only way in which Power Mania looks a little out of the ordinary is in terms of the blue circle in the very centre of the screen which has a dollar sign printed on it. It’s spinning slowly, and as it turns out, it’s also concealing the bingo balls that will be drawn when you select start. The balls will fly out of this spinning blue circle and will line up in two rows across the bottom of the screen. The balls move so fast that you can scarcely take it all in. Obviously it doesn’t take a genius to work out what’s happened, but the jerky animations do the game no favours whatsoever.

Fixed Rate Play

It’ll cost you 4 coins per game when you’re playing Power Mania. This is a fixed rate so it won’t ever change. As a result, the buttons are minimal; keep pressing play and those balls will keep on coming at 100 miles an hour. The only way in which Power Mania is different from normal bingo is that after the completion of the bingo draw, you can pay to draw additional balls for another 4 coins apiece.

This seems expensive given that you just drew a whole bunch of them for 4 coins, but if you’re dead set on completing a line, it might be in your interests to do so. You’ll earn at least 3 coins for completing a line in Power Mania and as much as 1,500 for filling your card.

Power Mania Summary

Regardless of whether you choose to play for fun or play for real money, there are limited thrills to be had from Power Mania. It’s not the worst game this developer have ever released but it’s certainly not their best work either. Still, it works, and you could probably play this game for all of about two minutes and have some fun. After that you’d almost certainly tire of it however. Power Mania doesn’t have much longevity then but it’s better than nothing.
