The Reels

There are a grand total of 9 different symbols to get used to when playing this slot machine, with some of them simply utilising the same feature but changing the colours, which already tells you more than enough about what to expect from the rest of the game.

Moving on…

For the most part of the activity you will need to find three of all the animals, however some tiles are an exception to this rule, such as crab. And then so too is the bright yellow lion when the scatter wins are in progress. Returning back to that pesky crab, it will give you a payout even if it’s totally alone upon a winning payline, though it’s only a small x2 of your bet. As for that lion, that smug looking little creeper of a lion, that can be matched up to 9 times, giving players a staggering x200 outcome.

In all honestly, all these different matches make it very difficult to get any real grip on the game and how it’s played. This is because it feels like the rules are constantly shifting, though that could be seen as exciting if you’re always used to the same old paytables and features and crave something different.

Seeing as Lion doesn’t adhere to a lot of slot machine rules, it only uses line wins and scatters wins to generate all that money – there are no wilds, no bonuses, no nothing extra. Even the scatter, which gifts you some free games, doesn’t feel particularly special in any way as there always seems to be a multiplier in action without scatters being triggered.

That being said, if you’re all about hidden gems, then the scatter wins are started when all of the nine windows feature the same photograph of the lion from the background. That’s it. Then you spin as normal and find that you’re actually playing the free slot games, although nothing other than the sudden appearance of a counter on one side informed you any differently.

Your Stake

Every bet you play with here is made up of credits, all of which amount to nothing more than 0.01, meaning that when you play with 320 coins you’re actually playing with 3.20, however that’s then applied to each of the paylines. It sounds a lot more complex than it really is, though if you’re stumped you won’t find any help from the game itself for the help bar only details the bare minimum.

Although there are paylines they are fixed, and there are no way of finding out where they fall apart from when you set your bet amount, which makes knowing whether you’re onto a win or not incredibly difficult. One ray of hope in this is that you know that wins are made from left to right and also up and down.

There is no gamble feature available and so that leaves us with only an autospin option up for grabs, but even that seems unappealing when we’re playing Lion – probably because there is no actual excitement generated and so there is nothing to sit back and enjoy?

Down and out

We really want to like this title from Spin Fan, but we just can’t. There is literally nothing that we would say is good about it, not even the payouts for they don’t reach the upper tiers all that often. There are plenty of other games out there that do a much better job of entertaining customers, and so we’d suggest moving along and trying one of them. If you happen to be in the minority that love Spin Fan however, go give Aero a try as that is extremely similarly to this.
