Mega Jack is a Bulgarian company that has been around for more than 10 years, and while they’re not the most popular in the business, they’re well known enough in niche circles of the online slot community. This is because their games are an acquired taste, based on traditional machines that are usually found in bricks and mortar casinos.
When the title loads you’re presented with a screen, almost as if you’ve happened upon one in an arcade or gaming complex; the graphics aren’t quite 3D enough to pull it off properly, but the very fact it falls short adds to its charm. Old school gaming is at a high once more, and so everything that looks like it was made it the 90s (and this probably was) is something gamers want to get their digits on.
Slot-O-Pol may be inspired by vintage slots, but it has a lot more reels and pay lines than those - in total you can play with 21 win lines, and there are always 5-reels. On that pretty neon grid is where you’ll match up symbols and possibly take home the ultimate prize of 10,000 credits. Mega Jack always pays so well.
One of the most obvious aspects of the title that’ll divide users across the board is the fact that Slot-O-Pol looks identical to Champagne Party, another solid activity from the brand. They’re not an exact match, but there isn’t much in it to separate the two, there’s only the Spin and Slot-O-Pol bonuses that we noticed were different.
The Spin Bonus is a good one, though you might not get many rounds to enjoy if you fail to match the maximum amount of five tiles, for only three of the icons will get you 1 round. The basics of this mini level is simple: get a win on an activate line and the amount will be multiplied by the money you bet on it. Still following?
As for the other bonus, the Slot-O-Pol, this is triggered by getting five of the dice symbols. When this happens, should you be lucky enough, you’ll be presented with a board game with spaces of varying rewards surrounding the edge of the screen. You’ll only have seven chances to make your way around the board, but you can get x30 multipliers and so much more. Whatever happens in this level, players will be leaving with some cash.
Playing this Mega Jack title is effortless, with only the Start, Double, Bet and Line buttons being of any importance during your play through. The double or nothing widget will only become available when you have money to risk, and even then it won’t always trigger, it’s more of a random occurrence.
Once you can click it, you will be in a virtual card game, the dealer the opponent you have to beat. Their card will be facing up and you will need to pick out another that is higher than the one shown, when you’re successful you’ll get a chance to go again, but when you lose the cash is lost with it.
Moving onto the win lines, players can have up to 21 but can choose to decrease down to 1, though it’s not advised for those who want to make the most of their bet and win a decent amount of cash. Not many people will be able to land the jackpot with a mere 1 pay line, but if you do so we want to hear about it because that would be epic.
How to bet is very simple here, with at least 1 credit always placed on the lines you’re playing with – the more lines you have the greater your total. If you’re ever unsure of that figure you can check the Total Bet display just underneath the grid; 1 credit on all 21 lines will give you a 21 credit stake, while 10 on the pay lines would give you 210 coins.
This game doesn’t do much for us, large wins or not, and it’s all because it has become too familiar, too… boring. Mega Jack is an old school brand and a lot of their titles have become dated.
If you want to be thrilled when you’re playing, it’s doubtful that this activity will do that. Stick to more modern titles with a greater scope for intriguing themes and intense graphics.
