I’m willing to bet that IGT’s game designers had a lot of fun with this movie game theme, I mean who wouldn’t? It shows in the game design too. The musical score almost wrote itself I would imagine with the classic movie theme used liberally, tons of movie video cut scenes fill the massive screen display and dinosaur sound effects explode from the inbuilt surround sound speaker system. I seriously approve of this being based on the 1st films plot and characters rather than one of the sequels, the original is still the best.

The designers threw away the playing card icons for this one and used a range of dinosaur skulls as low pay symbols, the films iconic characters form the high value icons whilst the red Jurassic park logo becomes the scatter and bonus trigger. Our old friend the T-Rex is the games wild who will expand outside the reels when he appears and replace all symbols except for the scatter. Pick up 5 of him in a row to land the games progressive jackpot.

Given the unique reel structure on this new slot game its playable by both high and low rollers, increasing your bet size offers bet multipliers rather than extra lines so even on a small bet you have all reels and bonus options active, you don’t feel like a poorer player who may be missing out.

The selection screen is seriously cool in itself, you roar up in one of the famous green jeeps to the massive park gates and the Isla Nublar appears on the Sat Nav for you to select one of three bonus regions.

This game has a great structure, theme, bonuses and even seems to pay-out well with relatively low variance for a movie slot. I really can’t think of much that could be improved, if I have one tiny bug bear it is that the voice-overs are character actors rather than the stars of the original movie which keeps it a little behind the Avatar slot for me in terms of immersion, honestly though that is a very small gripe!
