Rock the Mouse is designed around the concept of a live concert. The reels are located below the stage, where our characters are playing loud music and giving it their all.

The stage itself seems to be floating in outer space, with mice dancing to the music on nearby planets. Why, you ask? Probably because the developers aimed at creating an epic and fun atmosphere whilst avoiding an outright serious space theme, and they did a great job at that.

The music is of course in tune with the visual animations of the stage characters. Rock the Mouse might seem disconcerting on paper but the silly premise of the game works surprisingly well once you start playing it. Thumbs up for originality, in any case!

We are dealing with a simple, old-school game setup here. With only three reels and a single payline slashing right in their midst, there isn’t any simpler way to design a slot game.

That being said, the gameplay is not devoid of interesting little tweaks. You start by betting between 1 and 5 coins per spin, with the total amount of your wager determined by the coin value displayed above the Bet switch. Use the (+) and (-) arrow to fine-tune your game. The Bet Max button on the left will automatically put five coins on the table and let the reels spin loose.

You can manually start your game by clicking the green Spin button, or by directly hitting the space bar. Notice the three Stop buttons, one below each reel. They give you the possibility to stop one or more reels early and aim for the best combination possible! So keep your eyes on the reels, because things can change really fast.

Let’s review the paytable and get a little more familiar with the symbols of Rock the Mouse. Actually, any veteran gambler will probably recognize them right away but for the sake of the newcomers, let’s have a closer look anyway.

Here, the focus is on the winning combinations more than on the value of each individual symbol. The least valuable icons are easy to combine with others, while the ones at the top of the food chain need to be combined together exclusively to trigger a reward.

The Golden Coin and the Blue Seven are the least valuable of all symbols, any combination with one of them on the leftmost reel is winning. The G-Key, the Cherries, and the Green and Black Bar signs follow them. Those are more valuable: you will need at least two of the same kind to win. The last four symbols are logically the priciest one, no winning with them unless three identical ones appear right on the payline. Among this elite category are the Fish, the Red Seven, the Diamond Heart and the Star. Keep also in mind that three Stars trigger the game’s jackpot only if you had a five coin bet on the table.

The party is not over yet. We still have to take a look at the last three symbols you will encounter in Rock the Mouse.

The Wild card of the game is a ringing Bell, able to replace any of the other symbols mentioned earlier for an extra chance at triggering a winning combo!

The Cheese symbol triggers the Cheese Lovers Orchestra Bonus; you will need at least two slices of Cheese to get your backstage pass. Choose a performer and win a cash prize multiplied by the number of coins in your wager.

Finally, two or more Blue Sevens are the key to the Catch Me Bonus game. Use your rapid reflexes and catch as many symbols on the reels as possible to win some extra gold.

Rock the Mouse is a quirky game with a strange background story and an old-school gameplay. But do not let that discourage you from giving it a try! The design is decisively modern, the characters dance and sing while the reel symbols are also animated.
