Miss Midas Dice Games

The Midas touch is usually associated with King Midas, but here it’s his partner and co-ruler her majesty who’s blessed with the ability to turn things to gold on a whim. It’s a handy skill to have, and it’s a feature which is naturally built into this game which has been released by Dice Slots, with the regular non-dice version of the game coming under the NetEnt banner. Both slots have the same number of paylines, the same RTP and all the rest, but differ of course in that you spin the reels of one; you roll dice in another.

Some players prefer dice-based slots often because these are the sort of games that are more common in their country, and thus it’s simply what they’re used to. For other gamblers, it’s more a case of this being the only type of slots they’re legally allowed to play. This might seem strange, but that’s how it works in countries like Belgium, whose laws governing online casinos, and slots in particular, are unusually strict. Whatever your reasons for playing Miss Midas, the dice version of this slot is one that looks great, and that’s on all devices.

The Midas Touchscreen

As suited to playing on touchscreen devices such as tablet or smartphone as it is on desktop, Miss Midas is extremely easy to control. A series of sliders allow you to set your bet level as well as the number of paylines that are active. Miss Midas has 25 lines in all, while the bet can range between 0.01 and 20 coins. Even if you’re playing this game on an iPhone or Android device, you should have no trouble accessing the playing controls and adjusting them accordingly.

The board where the action commences measures 5x3, springing few surprises here. You can actually just make out a fourth line of dice at the bottom, but only the tops of white dice are visible, so their nominal presence can’t influence play in any way. Miss Midas’ game board is a golden-framed mirror, the sort that you could imagine the wicked stepmother peering into in Snow White before enquiring as to who was the fairest of them all. Within the glass, you’ll see the dice symbols appearing as a reflection, but the values displayed on the dice haven’t been mirrored because that would just be weird.

One of the coolest things about Miss Midas is that it comes with a feature named Super Bet. If you want to play with this, it needs to be enabled at the very start. With Super Bet active, you’ll have to wager more per spin, but there are benefits, for it means that you can trigger Golden Touch. This is a feature which turns regular symbols to gold and with it boosts your maximum possible win. Super Bet has two possible levels, the highest of which costs 25 coins per game. When it’s active Golden Touch has the power to transform the peacock, fruit, throne and rose symbols into gold.

Playing card values are the lowest symbols in the game and are worth no more than 100 for five on a line. Then comes a red rose, a basket of fruit, a luxurious throne and a peacock posing with plumage out. It’s worth 400 for five at most. Wild and scatter symbols also feature too, the former featuring Miss Midas, with her crown daintily perched upon her head. Wild will substitute for all other symbols except for scatter. That just leaves scatter, a castle symbol with a distinct whiff of Disneyland, that can earn you 2,500 if you land five on a line.

Others Worth a Try

The medium variance Miss Midas allows you to win up to 15 free spins with the aid of scatter and has an RTP of 95.62%. The regular game of the same name from NetEnt is technically the closest thing to this. If you’d like to try something with a different theme however check out Easy Slider. Another NetEnt slot, it’s a game that features 25 paylines and which awards 15 free spins at best. Microgaming’s Win Sum Dim Sum and Suntide are another two slots that are also worth a look.

Verdict on Miss Midas

As dice-based slots go, Miss Midas is better than most. It’s a fun game to play, particularly on mobile, and is the sort of slot you can pick up at a moment’s notice, whether it’s cos you’re bored at work or are killing time on your commute home. The whole design of the game is extremely clean, as typifies all of the slots that Dice Games have released lately. The best element of the game is Super Bet, which is where the slot ties in with its theme, turning everything or at least almost everything to gold and making you filthy rich at the same time.
