Playing Undying Passion, it is clear right from the get-go that speed and ease of play are this title’s main priorities. The game is about as stripped down as you can get, with a total of nine two-way paylines, one wild symbol and a scatter icon that potentially awards 10 free spins.

Players are able to wager anywhere between $0.10 and $10 per line, meaning the maximum bet of $90 is substantially lower than the other titles in the Spinomenal catalogue. This, however, is tempered by the fact that spins come around a lot faster, causing you to bet just as much over time.

Payouts are awarded for matching three or more regular symbols or two or more of the female vampires, which represent the game’s most valuable icons. Awarding a maximum win of 250x your stake per line, when coupled with the multiplier metre, these vixens can really boost your bankroll.

As previously mentioned, Undying Passion uses pretty much every vampire cliché imaginable across its five reels, with silver daggers and jewellery adorned with blood red stones representing the lower value symbols and a colourful cast of the un-dead denoting the game’s bigger winning icons.

It should be noted, however, that unlike Meyer’s idea of porcelain-skinned perfection, Undying Passion is pretty ugly. The graphics look like something from a late 90s role playing game and there are no animations whatsoever to speak of, with only a flashing border signifying winning paylines.

Similarly, the background music is dreary as hell, with foreboding distant chanting making way for piercing organ notes whenever a win is triggered. All in all, the presentation of Undying Passion lacks a little flair and imagination and there’s really not enough going on to truly get the blood pumping.

To make matters worse, the lack of bonus features in Undying Passion means that there’s not even anything to distract you from the slot’s fairly dated visuals. With only a free spins game on offer when three or more scatter symbols are present, there really isn’t much depth to the title at all.

Although this bonus does award 10 free spins, the presence of just nine paylines makes it difficult to generate that much momentum and players will be largely reliant on the multiplier metre if they are to score any significant wins. Running along the top of the screen, this metre increases by one bar for every non-winning spin, with 2x, 4x, 8x and finally a massive 16x prize boost on offer to players.

In truth, this feature is perhaps Undying Passion’s one saving grace due to the fact that it fills up quicker and awards a higher total multiplier than most other slots that also include a metre. That, however, should not detract from the fact that the game is a disappointing entry in the Spinomenal line-up and would probably have benefited from being staked through the heart some time ago.

Despite featuring the same pick up and play appeal of most Spinomenal titles, in stripping Undying Passion back to the bare bones and speeding up the gameplay, the team have actually made the game far less enjoyable to play. The graphics and sound are uninspiring and don't compare well with similarly themed games like Eternal Love or Immortal Romance, the bonus features are non-existent and with just nine paylines, you’ll always struggle to net those huge combination wins.
