Star Wars Slot

Sci-fi has generally always been a “thing”, but it wasn’t until Star Wars came along that it exploded in popularity. Back upon its initial release nobody could have predicted the cultural impact it would have, to the point where it has earned an army of loyal fans across the globe.

Considering that the Star Wars name is connected to a billion dollar film franchise, it is no shock to see a slew of knock off products arrive on the scene.

One of those knock-off products appears to be Star Wars, a brand new online slots game from 777igt. Now, questionable movie-inspired slots titles are pretty much the norm for this developer, but it must be said that this game takes matters in a different direction.

Star Wars certainly doesn’t stick to the film franchise with what it has to offer, as it throws some simply bizarre elements into the mix. If Star Wars by IGT777 has caught your eye, you’re going to want to pay special attention to the review below.

In a Galaxy Far, Far Away…

Before we even get into the bare bones of this game, it must be said that this is by no means a licensed Star Wars product. This probably explains while it gets a little weird at times.

The theme and overall design of the game takes the form of what looks to be a spaceship’s control panel. This is largely as expected, what isn’t expected is the Top Gun-esque logo for the game. Taking the form of a 1980s movie design, the logo for Star Wars looks ridiculously out of place.

While the production values of Star Wars are reasonably high, the game just appears a little “off” in its theme.

Hard to Compute

Things just get weirder when you venture onto the reels of Star Wars, as once again it’s a case of the expected meeting the unexpected. For every spaceship and robot you see, you’ll see a spider or red-faced monster. The reality is that what’s displayed here just doesn’t make any sense. Saying that, there are some positives to the symbols within this game. For starters, the low value symbols have all been redesigned in a fantastic looking brush metal.

Putting it simply, within Star Wars it is one-step forward two steps back when it comes to its symbols.

Captaining the Ship

777igt has a calling card that they deploy within every game that they release; this calling card is a triple-header of jackpots. As you’ll probably be aware, most games place a single jackpot up for grabs; in a twist Star Wars delivers three.

The jackpots you can spin the reels for our ‘Minor’, ‘Mini’, and ‘Major’, with each of these delivering a healthy looking prize pot. Each of these jackpots is easily ascertainable too, which makes the deal that much sweeter.

Undercharged and Underwhelming

Bonus wise, Star Wars really is nothing to write home about, as 777igt have done absolutely nothing to break the mould in this game. You’ll have the wilds and free spins to make use of, but nothing beyond this. What this means is that you can forget about enjoying any second screen experience in Star Wars.

Lightsabers at the Ready

Thankfully, novice players are going to find Star Wars pretty easy to get to grips with. The complexity of other slot games is replaced by a basic set of buttons. Running along the bottom of the screen are options for Credits, Bet Lines, Auto Spin, Spin, and Bet Max, while the total jackpot figures are displayed along the top. Button for button and display for display, there is very minimal out of the ordinary to be found here.

Feeling the Force in Star Wars!

777igt really is a “Jekyll and Hyde” casino software developer; reason being that they can produce an amazing slot game one week and deliver some truly sub-par the next. Star Wars is a game that probably features more on the side of the latter, even if it does have a few positives worth mentioning.

While we wouldn’t go out of our way to recommend Star Wars, we would say that it could deliver a viable quick slots fix in a pinch.
