As you might expect from a game based on the great gods, Asgard’s Gold has a powerful theme which is strongly influenced by Viking history.

The background is sparse and minimalist, emphasising the action on the reels instead. And turning your attention to the symbols, you’ll find a whole host of warlike images fitting for a nation of warriors.

Waiting to be spun round are symbols such as shields, longboats, wolves, warhorses and axes, in a game that Odin himself would be proud of.

The soundtrack in the background is atmospheric and builds tension in a perfect rendition of a classic Nordic battle.

Before you go charging into battle take some time out to discover the treasure that you could win and what you need to do to reach it.

This is held on the paytable which you can navigate to by pressing the help button on the bottom left of the screen.

To get a win of any kind, you’ll need to match at least three of the symbols but some are worth more than others.

The wooden building is worth the most; if you spin five matching symbols you’ll win 1,200. If you only spin three, the prize drops to 200; the more matches you get and the greater the stake, the higher the prize!

You’ll also find the layout of all of the paylines on the paytable too but don’t worry, you don’t need to remember them as the game will automatically highlight if you’re a winner.

Once you’ve checked out the paytable, it’s time to start spinning the reels and take on Odin in his own kingdom.

You’ll be playing with 5 reels and up to 20 paylines although you can choose as many or as few as you want. The number of paylines in play can easily be amended by clicking on the numbered buttons on the side of the reels which means you can change your mind as often as you want!

One coin is bet per line and it’s up to you to set the value of the coin. The minimum sum is 0.10 but you can increase the value to 4.00 if you want to bet high. Remember that this is the value per line, not in total! There’s a handy box at the bottom of the screen which calculates the total bet for you so you don’t have to do any tricky mental sums.

As well as being able to win by spinning regular symbols, there’s some extras to look out for too.

The highest value symbol, the bag of treasure, doubles up as the free spins symbol too. If three, four or five of these symbols show anywhere on the screen during a spin you’ll land yourself 8, 15 or 40 free turns respectively.

There’s also the wild symbol too which is represented by a rather intimidating-looking Asgardian, complete with helmet with horns that curve down. This symbol can represent any of the others on the board other than the free spins symbol. This means you have a better chance of matching a winning combination and nabbing a prize.

If you want to play without the hassle of clicking every time it’s your turn to spin the reels, the Auto Play facility makes it easy.

If you click on Auto Play, the reels will spin automatically, and your turn will commence immediately again and again. Your chances of winning won’t be compromised and you will still rack up prizes in the same way as usual. The only difference is you won’t have to lift a finger.

The Auto Play feature can be used for as long as you want but when you decide it’s time to regain control, just click on it again to switch it off.
