The game might be called deluxe, but in action Regal Poker Deluxe looks the same as all of Spin Games ’ other poker titles. There’s that old-fashioned logo, one that looks like the signage for a 1980s snooker hall, and there’s the shadow effect lettering which further ages this game. The web’s come a long way since the late 90s but the design of video poker games has not. Although Regal Poker Deluxe doesn’t make it immediately obvious what you can bet per game, you can find out by clicking on Game Recall. Here you’ll discover that with Max Bet enabled, each game will cost you 125 coins. You’ll also be able to view the date and time of previous games and to see the amount you bet and won.
It’s easy to win several hundred coins per game through a combination of good judgement and good luck. You arrive at the maximum 125 bet by setting the level to 5 and then clicking on the Denom button to make sure that this is set to the highest possible 0.25. When you’re viewing the Game Recall screen, you’ll also see the RTP displayed in the bottom right of the screen. This works out at 97.4% with the maximum bet set, and 97.22% the rest of the time. If you’re curious to refresh your memory as to how a particular game played out, click on it and you’ll be able to replay it. This is handy if you’re trying to pinpoint errors or successes with the aim of eradicating or replicating them.
Thepaytable above makes it easy to tell at a glance what the value of the respective hands is. Punters will be aiming for a Royal Flush, which is worth 250, but 4 of a Kind is worth 80 which is still good going. These sums are multiplied by your total bet to determine your win. There’s 8x applied in the case of Full House, while Jacks or Better/Two Pair will simply pay out your bet with no multiplier applied. Because Regal Poker Deluxe is an extremely minimalist game, there isn’t an awful lot that can be adjusted aside from the bet level. You do have the ability to disable the sound, but this seems futile given that the sound effects are completely unobtrusive, and besides, you have a volume control on your computer. There’s also a turbo button which speeds things up, but since this isn’t a slot machine with rolling reels, there’s very little time that can be saved with turbo on.
As online casino games go, Regal Poker Deluxe is nothing special but still perfectly playable. It’s hardly the sort of game that’s going to keep you captivated for hours on end, or at least it’s unlikely to when you’re playing at an online casino that has so many other games vying for your attention, poker and otherwise. Still, if you do happen to wind up playing Regal Poker Deluxe, you can look forward to experiencing a no-frills video poker game that omits all the clutter and lets you get on with the game.
