Mega Wins Casino Review

Surprise Your Winnings reads the tagline. You might think that if you really wanted to surprise something, particularly an inanimate object (or rather objects) that will inherently struggle to be surprised, then the best idea would be to shout or scream the message, rather than simply including it in average-sized font under the website name, hidden away in the cold and unforgiving black background of that corner of this domain.

Mega Wins needs a lesson in marketing, clearly. And that’s not the only grip I had after the homepage loaded up. If you’re looking for utterly uninspired, dull as ditchwater banners then the one here is exactly that. ‘The Ultimate Casino’ reads the text dropped on top of a background image depicting what appears to be an unofficial piece of Las Vegas clip art from the late-90s. If this really is The Ultimate Casino then someone obviously forgot to tell the developers, because nothing stands out, and there’s nothing here that wasn’t possible in HTML about 10 years ago.

Beneath the banner you’ll see a white box out, which looks a bit like the sort of messaging box you might use to get live online advice about changing the filter in your new vacuum cleaner. Instead, though, this is actually a static message that overlays itself across any part of the website as you scroll through, unless you hit an equally not-immediately-apparent X close button. It looks untidy, unkept and unprofessional in an age when most people expect bells and whistles with their internet addresses.

Delving Deeper

Once you hit X and get rid of that truly unsightly thing it’s time to get to grips with this casino website properly, and by that we mean explore further down the page.

Four simple squares direct your attention to different assets of the website, for example the Welcome Bonus offering 110% of your first deposit, the total current jackpot in active play (€5,971,836 at the time of writing) and the month’s biggest jackpot (an impressive €18,284.23), along with Our Most Popular Game, offering a click through directly to the number on game on the website. It’s nice and simple, and certainly easy to figure out. It’s just a shame this is also really, really uninspiring.

Looks Are Not Everything (At Least)

The worst type of people in the world judge every book by the cover. The sad thing is, pretty much everyone judges a book by its cover at least once or twice in their lives. The result being that humans are immediately inclined to consider what someone or something will be like from it or their appearance.

As mentioned above, Mega Wins is definitely not winning any favours in terms of appearance. But what is it like under the hood, as it were? Well, it’s not completely terrible once you click through to ‘Create Account’, although helpfully the developers have trumped the majority of other stupid decisions we have ever come across in the world of online casinos by forgetting to give us any immediate sign of what we may find within this particular website.

So What is Actually Involved in the Website?

Well it’s not an easy one to call really. What is for sure is there’s a 110% Welcome Bonus up for grabs for anyone signing up. Why someone would sign up when they don’t know what games are on offer is something of a mystery to any right-minded individual, although it seems as though those behind this website have attempted to offer a search bar in the left hand side of the homepage.

Unfortunately, clicking on Categories or Providers, which would logically bring up a menu of either game types or the names of people and companies that make the games, doesn’t actually cause any response in the website- this was using Safari, Apple’s own web browser, but considering this is a very popular app it should be supported. Add to this the fact that the arrows next to Categories and Providers do respond, they just don’t bring up any further information or options, and it’s a safe bet that this just doesn’t actually work. Thankfully, there are still a couple of temptations we haven’t mentioned that could still entice newcomers.

Promotions and VIP Business

Like so many casino websites, Mega Wins has an array of offers on the table designed to sell its wares over any competitors people may find on the market. The problem being we don’t actually know what those wares are for the reason(s) we’ve mentioned above.

Still, there are plenty of Promotions to go at, and the artwork accompanying each would suggest the games on Mega Wins include roulette. Anyway, in addition to the 110% sign up bonus, the second deposit you ever make will result in 50% bonus, each Thursday you’ll receive a 30% bonus for every reload, your third deposit ever will get a 25% bonus, and Mega Cash Back Monday is basically shorthand for getting 15% added on to any amount up to €600.

There is also a VIP rewards system that works in the same way as many others you may have seen- the more you play, the more your status or level increases, and the more this happens the more and higher standard of reward you’ll be eligible to receive. Hardly revolutionary, again this loses points for the lack of clarity in terms of what games are on offer- how can frequent online casino users judge if they want to sign up for a website that offers better prizes for continued play, if they don’t actually know whether there’s anything on the website that would interest them enough to continuously play to the extent where this VIP programme would actually kick in? The answer being they can’t, and nor should they.

Conclusion

By now it should be clear that two words come to mind when it comes to Mega Wins – not impressed. This really is a case of people not thinking about how a website should respond to users, and how someone browsing the web responds to a website once it loads up.

It simply does not have enough information or obvious prompts to make people stick around when compared with pretty much every other we’ve seen on the market. But this also raises a serious question.

‘Industry leader in safe, secure, and innovative online gambling’ claims a second tagline at the bottom of every page pre-sign in/sign up. If this is true then Mega Wins must have a lot of members, which means it must have a great reputation among die-hard casino webbies. As such it would stand to reason that the contents will actually be pretty good, if not very impressive, otherwise the whole ‘industry leader’ thing would just be nonsense. Not least considering there’s the ‘innovative’ bit to boot.

Add to all this the fact that the overall design is less appealing than even the most rudimentary, post-log in games menu screens we’ve come across, and we’re not even sure there is much to say good about this one.
